I went to an Office Depot in Los angeles and it was great. I was greeted with a smile it felt like such a friendly atmosphere. I went in for an ink cartridge but the ink number slipped my mind. I asked an employee if he could help me and said he was currently helping a costumer but will be with me as soon as he could. He was gonna take a while so he sent the cashier to come help me. She came right over, she asked for the model number of my printer so she can find the exact ink cartridge and bingo! found it and rang me up. While she was ringing me up another costumer rudely interupted and asked her to hand him an HP ink. Confused, the cashier said "im sorry sir, what ink are you reffiring to?" the rude guy answered back "well i have an hp printer so i need some hp ink." She told him she was gonna assist him as soon as she was finished with me. The guy upset asked if their was anyone in the store that could help ignoring what she had just said. After she finished ringing me up, i stepped aside and waited to see how the sitution would turn out, knowing the guy was gonna have an outburst. She asked him simple basic information in regards to his printer like what model is it or what the item number. The guy was like "oh, arent all hp's the same and need the same cartridge? What an idiot of a guy. I felt bad for the cashier. The guy then pointed at a printer and said "well my printer looks like that, so can you get the ink cartridge for that" The cashier said no because the printer he had pointed at was a canon printer so obviously it would fit! The guy started yelling at the cashier and blaming her for not knowing what he needed. He said she wasnt well trained and should know all her products! what nonsense. Bravo to employees who have to deal with that. i wouldnt be surprised if the cashier told him off ( that was what i was hoping for)...i soon left satisfied with my merchandise and will definetly return

VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. These people couldn't even get a job working at McDonald's. I wanted to get some business cards done and emailed over the art work. I asked what the process was and the loser at the Copy and Print counter said - what do you mean? I asked if I got a confirmation number or anything and he said 'no I just send the cards out to a 3rd party'. HAD to call the manager of the store to confirm they were sent since I need them in 10 days. He wasn't that much better in attitude but at least he checked and confirmed to me verbally. About an hour later I received an email saying 'Please Confirm' order. BINGO! Why couldn't they just say that they send a confirmation email?!?! So I confirmed prices and told them that my phone number was wrong on the form and they said 'We've already send it over to the 3rd party and the email is just a confirmation'. So WHY SAY PLEASE CONFIRM?? If they can't get my phone number right on the form, what are my business cards going to look like?? Anyways, I haven't paid them yet. I'll make a snap decision just before I need them and use some other company if they don't turn out.

Screw you customer return policy. This is not a big deal if all you buy is the occasional binder or pen or something, but you're a fool if you purchase any larger cost items. Customer satisfaction is not a concern, at best they will exchange, but even then only for an item of equal or greater value. So they actually make money when you get hosed by selling you something more expensive.

367 days, hrd drive failure...response from office depot...."go #*%& yourself". They couldn't even give me a number to call! BLOW ME OFFICE DEPOt!!! not another dime will you get from me! I'd rather drive 200 miles to a BEST BUY for garage sale stickers than have you bring them to my door! They won't even match prices on a similar hard drive. It has to be the EXCACT brand, size, etc. AND IN STOCK AT BOTH S TORES. So you sold me this crap and will onlyrectify the situation if I am willing to do ALL the legwork? You should give me a hard drive and load it, then take it up with COMPAQ! I hope you bastards die in the recession and I'd like to see you managers in a cheese line!!! And don't ask me for change at the 7-11 either...I'm saving that for a new laptop at BEST BUY!!!!!!DONE WITH THE DEPOT!!!Santa FE, NM

John McEnroe1865 NE Davis #312Portland, Oregon 97232503-232-6918On May 21, 2009, I made a purchase at about 11 AM, and then attempted to correct an Office Depot clerk's mistake and get the item I actually ordered at approximately 2 PM. I must apologize for swearing twice in the presence of the clerk who “helped” me and the cashier who handled my purchase. The responsibility for the problems I experienced rest completely with me.I went to Office Depot 323 SE Martin Luther King Blvd, Portland, Or 97214, rather than a computer store to purchase a high speed router modem with wireless and ethernet capability, like my older, slower Zoom ADSL X6 router modem or the NETGEAR DGND3300-100NAS IEEE 802.11a/b/g, IEEE 802.11n Draft 2.0 RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N DSL Gateway. I trusted the advice of a clerk who did not understand the difference between a router modem and a router.Three hours later, when I discovered that I did not have what I had ordered and instead had a Wireless-N Broadband Router model WRT160N, I attempted an exchange with my “clerk.” He discovered that Office Depot did not carry the product I had asked for. Then I asked for a refund. I compounded my difficulties by being unable to produce my receipt for a refund.Once again, I apologize for using intemperate language when I discovered that I was out cash, and you offered no other option than keeping the useless piece of hardware. I should have ordered from a verified computer store instead of Office Depot. For Office Depot personnel who actually want to know, here is the actual company policy on refunds and exchanges, none of which I was offered:http://www.officedepot.com/specialLinks.do?file=/cu stomerservice/Refunds.jsp&template=customerServ ice"Returns of supplies without an Original Receipt require valid government identification. Supplies still active in our computer system will be refunded in the form of an Office Depot Merchandise Card in an amount equal to the lowest retail price during the 90 days preceding the return. If that amount is under $10, however, we will refund in cash."Technology products may be returned or exchanged within 14 days of purchase with Original Receipt, in original packaging and with UPC code intact. If product box is opened, we will offer an exchange only.

Be very careful. They their return policy is terrible. It is all small in the fine print in the back of the receipts. Electronics. I recomend don't buy ever any electronics in there. They don no give you money back, they only change it for another product the same brand, yes, it can't be another brand, and that is if it only withing 14 days with your receipt. If it is open, no money back, just exchange for same brand. If you try to buy something go to wallmart, costco place like that. Well I learnt my lesson. Hope it does not happens to you. Here is my experience. <><><><><><>< ;><><>EPSON GT-1500. Not a good printer to buy. Or hast it being good to anyone out there?I bought this Epson GT-1500 with the idea of eliminating some papers from my desk. Paid 340.00 in office depot. I read some reviews in CNET and other places so decided was a good buy. So far the printer prints good but has so many cons. OH my Gosh. 1st I bought the Neatdesk in 325.00 (aprox) in compuserve and returne it cause there was not much reviews from customer on it. That was a big mistake. This Epson GT-1500 even though it scan good, it has so many cons.1. In order to scan both side you have flip the documment and in order to have a sequence correctly is does not happens all the time if you have several batches or group of 50 pages cause that is the max it scan at one time.2. AFter the document is scanned It talke like 15 or 10 minutes to save it in the format. It takes longer to save it than to scann it. And my PC is very fast so is not the computer. This is 4.0 G Ram, Wxp, Intel centrion duo mobile technology intel core due processor, windows vista premium ready pc. So keep away on this product. Not good experience.4. Also the worst buying in Office depot this electronic. They dont return the money after you buy it, the change it but no return just withing 14 days. and if open 15% restocking fees. Same as compusa. In resume a big lesson learnt here. Neve, never buy anthing but in a place with a good returns policy like no question ask if not satisfactions guarantee. So far I know of two places like this. Walmart and Costo. Well now I have to suck it and keep wit this.- I whished now I could have bought the Neatdesk which scan double side page at once and in a place like walmart or costo.

I will never ever shop at Office depot located at Alhambra, CA in particular. The other day I went to return an item within 6 days of purchase and the manager refused to return it and they said the new policy allowed only exchanges.. you know because of the bad economy.. but then who would like to shop at a store where you cannot return an item even within a week.. you cannot know about the item inside without opening the box! So they are losing more customers now and their sales are sure to slide down even more..

I bought an Office Depot inkjet cartridge to keep on hand. It was dry when I went to use it a few months later. As it was past the 30 days, they told me to pound salt.I bought a piece of junk HP printer the other other day. They said that their new policy doesn't allow for returns - only exchanges - within 14 days IF THE BOX HAS BEEN OPENED. How are you supposed to know that a product sucks unless you use it?Goodbye, Office Depot!

I will never shop at Office Depot again. My husband and I went to the location in Brentwood , Ca on Lone Tree. I waited while an employee retrived our software from a locked location. While I waited I observed the customer service that the female cashier gave the two ladies she waited on. The cashier made sure to ask the ladies if they had a rewards card. When she processed my transaction she didn't mention the program at all. She gave me my total and I then ask her was she going to ask me for my rewards card. The cashier then told me she was just about to ask me. I wasn't buying that at all.

Same exact thing happened to me with the computer monitor in the last review. It was that Acer 22" right? Well, same story happened except I made them get me one and they will have it shipped. Few days later they call to verify my credit card. You would think I would have it in the bag by now right? Wrong, today I check the order status (since it should have shipped today) and here it is: "Delivered - Short Shipped" which in other words means, CANCELLED. After numerous phone calls, horrible customer service and stupid overselling on their part. I GET NOTHING. I want my name off their mailing list for future ads and promotions. I am not buying ANYTHING from them again.

Office Depot is by far the best Office Supply store there is. They always have friendly customer service and have everything in stock. All you people who think that office depot is here to serve YOU are idiots.
LadyJesusFan77 7 11/10/2008
I live pretty close to an Office Depot, and it comes in pretty handy. There are some office supplies I prefer to get other places due to the price. But some of those hard to find items can always be found at Office Depot.
Chalky 11/10/2008
Office Depot is okay. Pocket Protectors, anyone? Just a comment on office supply stores in general---aren't there too many? Gosh, it's like a Burger King on every corner.

The managers are horrible but salesmen here are generally helpful. Prices are usually within the acceptability range.

DON'T SHOP AT THE MANCHESTER CT LOCATION, especially if you need to use the copy center, the lady who runs that is extremely rude and impatient and YELLS at customers. Granted, alot of customers in manchester are idiots, but they're not to be yelled at by a BUSINESS.

I have been shopping at office depot for years. I am not a huge spender. I go there for my small business and home needs. I am always greeted with a smile. I have bought many things with mail in rebates and have always got them within 4-6 weeks with no trouble. I dont however understand how people can complain about a product breaking outside the return policy which is clearly stated on the receipt and on the counters and not being able to just return it. The intelligence of society as a whole is going down and people dont know how and dont want to do things for themselves. Show some responsibility america. I will continue to be a happy and loyal customer to office depot!
Dodzzz101 10/02/2008
Office depot is the worst place in the world. The Brunswick, GA store is by far the worst. There is a guy named Brad that works there (Store manager) and he is the rudest man ive ever met. The lady at checkout named Celeste is the biggest idiot and never has good customer service. I will never shop there again.
AllyinBellevue 09/28/2008
Had a horrible experience at downtown Bellevue Office Depot today and have decided I will never shop there again -- they lost my several hundreds of dollars of business per year over $1.50: the manager told me that a 70-page blank spiral notebook was normally priced at $6.00 (what?! -- they are $1 or less everywhere else). I had spent 40 minutes shopping for various additional school supplies (third time I've been there for my kids this school season) and had picked up the last 70-page blank spiral notebook with Ford auto cover in the 50% clearance section. The regular price appeared to be $2.99 (this item's bin didn't have the yellow sticker on it but had the original $2.99 white price tag/bar code). When the cashier tried to charge me $2.99 I mentioned the 50% off, the manager got involved and insisted it was originally $6.00 and the $2.99 was the sale price. I told him that was absurd and the company would lose that entire sale (I had picked out over $50 in items) as well as future business if he didn't reconsider. He said no, he was right, I was wrong, the notebook was $6 normally, $2.99 now and take it or leave it. I left, and will tell everyone I know to avoid this store -- it is horrible and I hope it goes out of business! Got the same notebook at Factoria Target for 79 cents about 15 minutes later. Should have gone to Target or FedEx/Kinkos -- shame on me for wasting my time at this dump.

I too bought a shredder and in less then 30 day it died the store will not take it back and the return is like a day in hell!!! I would not buy anything from this company ever again and would advise others to do the same. The worst part of this whole thing is the ativa shredder I bought is made by them for them (same address for both firms). WOW what a screw job I got and did not even get kissed

I submitted a rebate for $35 dollars. I followed all instructions, and even typed my address in the address field on the rebate form to avoid any possible problems. Office Depot received my rebate requested, there were no errors, and according to the website---the check was mailed. After 6 weeks, I still hadn't received my rebate. I called customer service and according to them, they mailed my check to the wrong address. They reissued the check to my address i gave them over the phone and according to the website they have mailed me a check. It has been a month and I still have not received the check. I am going to have to call them again. I will never buy anything from Office Depot again!

Said they wouldn't honor the $129.00 warrentee I bought for my laptop because the plastic latch on the top had broken. How that effected the problem (a bum power cord) they couldn't explain. They called it "significant damage" and said that it invalidated my warrentee. Pathetic idiots is putting it nicely.
turrmoil 07/18/2008
Poor as hell. Publish price mistakes OVER AND OVER AND OVER never to honor them but to get the customer to burn $4 a gallon of gas to go to their store and then procrastinate them for defrauding them... !!! Insane, telling the customer that "they" (the customer) hacked into their online system to make coupons work... bunch of jerks that I hate to deal with... low lifes that are better off working for office depot. However, they are not worst of the pack... no one can beat BestBuy in worst customer service!!!

the worst online shopping experience ever! the product (chair) was showed in stock, i placed the order (June 17, 2008), first the discount coupon wouldnt apply! then i canceled the first order and placed the order again, this time the same coupon worked. the delivery was supposed to be on 19th, i took a day off to stay at home and receive the chair, it costed me $200 for this day off, and the product was not even shipped when i checked the status online, in fact it the delivery date was changed to a week after! (26th) i called in and was promised a 10% discount, which was later refused, on the second delivery date, i took off again, and yet once again the product was a no show!, i call in once again and was promised delivery of the product by yet one week ahead (4th) with another additional 20% off, a discount that was later refused! this time on the delivery date, i checked the website and not to my surprise the delivery was pushed 4 days ahead (8th) once more, i didnt bother calling in and waited for the next date, checked the website one day ahead of the latest delivery (today, June 7th), and ,... as expected was yet pushed for another few days! called in and asked the customer rep that i wanted to talk to a manager or some one who has authority, she was not very willing to pass the phone on but eventually did, the manager started off with, "this happens!" how encouraging! then she promised to call the manufacturer/store and get to know when can the chair be delivered, on her call back, she informed me that the earliest the chair can be delivered would be October! and I was like .. I will cancel the order online tonight! Oh and about the discounts they offered me for all the inconvenience, the manager goes I am sure we wont be able to honor that, if we gave that kind of discounts where would we be? holy ..!! your customer reps are promising those discounts, not me.! I was so shocked to see this array of fake promises by such a big corporation, fake delivery dates, fake discounts .. bad customer service stay away from this company at all costs, Id pay more for some thing that I can actually buy than giving them my credit card number for some serious inconvenience

Horrible experience! Purchased $200 item online on 6/14 with next day delivery. Online status was useless. Immediately said "shipped by 3rd party" delivery date 6/30 8:30am-5:00pm. Called after 5pm on 6/29 to make sure it was on track and I was told by automated service it had been delivered. Agent verified address and other info and said they couldn't do anything and no one there could help. Was told I would recieve a call in 4 "business hours" (meaning by noon the next day). Person called 6/30 and left VM saying that they had no information but would contact the manufacturer and get back to me. Called back today 7/1 and while the agent was more helpful the result was the same. "Will recieve call with in 4 business hours". By noon tommarow I expect an answer or a refund. Will never order online from OfficeDepot again.

I ordered a desk that had to be delivered because it was not carried in the store. They never called me to set up a time frame as they had said they would. It was supposed to be delivered on Wednesday and it was delivered on Friday. The desk came and the men left and IT WAS THE WRONG DESK IN THE WRONG COLOR! I waited 1 1/2 weeks and all day for the wrong desk. When I called customer service the woman told me my desk did not exist! Impossible because I saw it in the store and took the order tag directly off of it! I then told her I wanted MY desk delivered the next day and the other picked up because it was their mistake. She said they would come the next week and my desk did not exist. I asked to speak to a manager and was told he would say the same thing. When I spoke to someone else he said I should not have an issue because I was credited the money back and they would come next week. I told my issue was the horrible customer service and that they were telling me my desk did not exist. He again told me I shouldn't have an issue because my acct was credited. I told him my issue was a 180 pound box in an office where I see clients! Long story short, I ordered the desk, which does exist, online and I still have not heard from anyone to set up a time for it to be delivered. I will never give office depot my business again. Their customer service is HORRIBLE and their representatives are incompetent.

Office Depot has the WORST call centers in the world. Everytime I have to talk to those Phillipine outsource call center staff I cringe. What a waste of time. My business is slowly transferring to Staples and I'll be done with Office Depot in a few weeks.

WARNING!!!!!!! WARNING!!!! BE AWARE !!!!!!!! Never buy anything with rebate from Office Depot because you never get the rebate from them. They always said that you didn't send the product UPC and receipt. I think this their trick to not to send you your rebate. I learned the lesson and I will never buy anything from them.

Office Depot.. the horrible one I have ever seen. The order (a laptop) is never delivered. The customer (don't) care people always say that the order is auto deleted.. and they would rebook and send... I guess those people should be trained, first of all to use and maintain their system. Never try OFFICE DEPOT ...

I ordered a chair from office depot web. I chose the pick up option from this oracle office depot. The manager did not allow me to take my paid chair. He was saying I can't take the chair because i didn't bring physical coupon, he would not take my printed processed order confirmation email with discounted coupon. He also said I can't combine two coupons together, which was not indicated on office depot ordering web at all. I contacted 1800-go-depot customer agent, they said my order was perfectly fine. When the 1800-go-depot customer agent tried to call this specific store, the store manager rudely hung up the phone on the office depot agent. So the office depot agent promised to make up the horrible customer service by shipping a free chair to me, but he had to forward this issue to their management team first and report the problem. This black store manager of the oracle office depot intentionally prevented customer to take the ordered item and cancelled their order without asking the customer. This was very rude and uncultured behavior of him to do that, and embarrassed the whole office depot team. Don't go to this store to pick up your discounted item online, because they wouldn't let you. Overall, this was about a $50 chair, don't know what went wrong with this idiotic pathetic guy, he deserved to get fired

I purchased a laptop from Office Depot back in early February. They didn't have it in the store, saying that it had to be "special built" (even though it was the one listed in their ad). They charged me $79 shipping and, when I contacted customer service the first time, I was told that it must have been a "technical error". Six phone calls and three months later and it still hasn't been resolved. Their customer service is terrible...and Tech Depot isn't any better. All this and I'm still waiting for my rebate after nearly three months. Their website says that it is in the "Verification Period". What a joke. I'll never do business with them again.
TokyoJunkie 04/26/2008
Their printing service has a LOT left to be desired. When I went to get my book printed for a presentation, the guy didn't even ask me if I wanted it in duplex; he just went ahead and printed away, thus incurring a charge on me that I wasn't planning on paying. In the end, I ended up paying nearly $100 for a job that could've been done for $30. Bull.
Hunkax2 02/19/2008
Office Depot is barely above mediocre. They'll send out a new catalog at the beginning of the year with prices that are supposed to be valid for 6-7 months (July 2008). Then the website and mid- February pamphlet have higher prices. I have twice emailed the customer service but NEVER received a reply let alone any acknowledgement of receipt of my question or comment. Their online customer service site is TOTALLY BOGUS! At their stores, it's almost impossible to find anything besides their poor quality in-house brands. On the few occasions that I have called to place an order or to get customer service, customer service which is outsourced to the Philippines, have been

It is the first time that I had such an unpleasant and terrible online shopping experience, although I do it very offen. I ordered a TV, at that time the factory was giving all the buyers a 100 dollars discount. When I ordered it, there was still several days left to the end of the discount, and it was shown on their website that it was in stock. However, 10 days after the order, I did not receive it. I called the customer service to ask for the exact shipping date, they told me that it was out stock and they did not know when they could ship it out. However, it was shown on their website that it was in stock at the same time, certainly, the price was $100 higher than the discount price given by the factory, and the discount had been over. If they did not show that it was in stock when I ordered, I would order it from other shops. They are really dishonest guys. Just now, I searched on the website, I found that in the discount period, the Newegg and some other shops gave even lower a price for the same thing. The name "Office Depot" should be changed to "Office Shitpot", which means that they try to deceive, and they are actually something disgusting, of poor quality, foolish, or otherwise totally unacceptable.
GavinCustomer1 000as 01/10/2008
Never buy things from Office Depot online. I ordered an item that was indicated as "in stock". However, after I placed the order, it indicated a "3-day delivery pending". So that is actually a fraudulence. If they do not indicate the status as "in stock", I would have ordered and received it from some other on-line shop. Nine days after the order, the delivery was still pending as indicated in the order history. I called them several times. One time, the person talked with me in a rather rude manner. Two times they told me that their computer system was junking and they could not give any help. Another time, they told me to call them in the next day morning, and they would ship it to me in then. However, the person tole another lie, which is the worst thing, since the delivery is still pending until now. People hate dishonest merchants. Never play indecent tricks.

Absolutely HORRID experience. Ordered laptop online which was supposedly in stock and had $180 worth of rebates for the date I bought it. It never showed up on the delivery date specified. Checked order online which indicated new delivery date (3 days after original). Didnt show up on that day either. Never received any communication at any time that we would not receive the item. Called customer service they told me it was out of stock and we wouldnt be getting it. However the whole time their website stated that it was in stock and I could have bought another (but at that point would not receive the rebate). Complained that we should be able to get the same deal when it came in. They wouldnt honor that or substitute a similar item. Were promised callbacks from managers who would supposedly provide some restitution but that never happened. Their customer service is in the Philippines and is the worst I have ever experienced. These people are absolutely useless and incompetent and barely understand their products and anything you are saying and you can barely hear or understand them either. Their answers are inconsistent between each other. They read from a script and keep apologizing (scripted) over and over but never resolve anything until you finally get tired of it and give up (which at that point they close with the equally scripted can we help you with anything else, Thanks for shopping at Office Depot. The apologizing gets real insulting after a while. They will not let you speak to a manager, the managers are always in a meeting. Their solution to me was to buy a more expensive model at the regular price. I wasted over an hour on the phone with them with all the runaround. They actually had me call another number which eventually referred me back to the original number. Many of their better priced items are listed as in stock on the website but at the same moment are out of stock when you talk to customer service. This experience was a total waste of my time and ultimately kept me from getting similar deals from other merchants. DO NOT DEAL WITH OFFICE DEPOT. This was my first and last time

Very poor experience in trying to return product bought online. Watch out for the bait and switch (reason I wanted to return product) and choose carefully--getting a refund may be impossible. Staples is much more customer friendly.

We have done local business with Office Depot and have always had very good service overall. Once an older male ignored us to chat with another couple and I had to go find another clerk. That was the only exception. The management has typically been very good - no problems.

Office Depot SUCKS. Constantly have trouble getting them to price match as per their corporate policies. The folks they have running the stores have the poorest customer service skills. They are constantly giving lame excuses why they can't price match... even when you follow exactly what they claim they want to be able to price match, expect to have to argue and show them the corporate policy for 15-30min to get them to price match. Avoid them if you can.

Decent prices. . .good products. . .I drop plenty of cash here for home and office products- but the hired help is borderline-retarded. . .don't bother asking too many questions- get your shite and get the hell out the door.

I am very happy with Office Depot's rebate service so decided to write a good review for them. I bought a PC and mailed off a rebate request for $190. Compared to my prior experience with COMPUSA where I had to call their rebate center many times and waited 5 months before getting my rebate check, Office Depot gave me no headache at all. I got the their rebate and the manufacurere's within 7 weeks after mailing them off. They must have better IT structure or something so that their rebate works so much smoother than Compusa. I still shop at Compusa but I don't dare buying anything that requires a rebate. But when Office Depot offers a rebate, I will definitely trust them again!

bait and switch offer on free gifts. Theoretically, when you purchase so many dollars of stuff from Office Depot, they give you a free gift. When placing my phone order I gave them the information they needed to redeem the gift. When my order arrived I received a cheap substitute. I called to ask why they didn't tell me the free gift listed in their catalog was unavailable. They had no answer. Do not purchase things from Office Depot if you are expecting their free gift offer to be real.

I never get anything but 5 star service from Office Depot. I was confused and didn't know what a CRT Box Monitor was, but they turned right around the same day and replaced my monitor with a really nice 19" LCD monitor for $100 more.

Ordered a chair on Saturday 12/2/06 and was given a confirmation message that it would be delivered on 12/5/06. Well it never came so called customer service and was told it would be delivered the next day on 12/6/06. That day came and went and tried calling customer service again. I was put on hold for more than 30 minutes and finally hung up and called back to wait again for another rep for 20 minutes. Every one kept apologizing to the point I wanted to scream and they hardly speak English so they are hard to understand. "Why you no tell me problem?" "we have no manager here" etc...at one point I was given a number to call which was a sex line which I am sure was on purpose. They told me someone would call the next day and they never did. Finally got through on 12/7/06 and was met with more profuse apologies to the point of being sickening yet still don't know why my chair was never delivered. I offered to go pick it up even at the nearest store but they wanted me to pay for it again and I had already paid from my checking account and didn't have the money to buy it again. Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow 12/8/06. I just can't believe this company is still in business if this is an example of their competency.

On Sunday Nov. 19th Office Depot offered the Canon Powershot A540 digital camera with a $75.00 rebate and a free HP printer with a $69.99 value. The first store in Huntington Beach, CA. tried slipping in a printer of $29.99 value. When the proper "replacement" printer (of $69.99 value) was found, the rebate receipt would not print out. After 30 minutes of confusion between the manager and the cashier, I walked out. The second store that I drove to (Fountain Valley) claimed that they had the correct printer but had no more cameras in stock. The sales person suggested that I buy the printer here, but buy the camera at a third store in Costa Mesa (since the Huntington Beach store had by now sold out). After finding out that the third store had both, I drove to Costa Mesa. At Costa Mesa (10 minutes later) the salesperson again tried slipping me an inferior printer of $29.99 value and after showing the ad, agreed that there was another "replacement" printer in stock that was overlooked. Again the rebate receipt would not print out, and after explaining to the cashier that this was the third store that I had visited, she was very simpathetic and decided to give me a $70.00 instant rebate which was very kind of her to do. Now here the confusion continues. Since $70 exceeded the $69.99 value of the printer, the cashier split the amount between the two items. Long story short, if I had to return either of the two items, I would not be fully refunded for either of them. After 3 stores, 3 voided transactions and 120 minutes of confusion, my purchase was complete. Believe me when I say this... You have not heard the entire story but I'm tired of talking about it, and I doubt anyone is going to read this review anyway. Take care, and be careful of Office Depot bait/switch tactics.

I never thought Office depot was special, but recent events have made me hate it. I purchased a shredder that broke in 20 days. I took it to Office Depot and they refused to take it back or fix it saying that the store will only except items returned within 14 days of purchase. 3 months have gone by and office depot has been giving me different 800 numbers to call to get the shredder fixed. What a scam.
