Who would have ever thought that Utah football would ever be a top 10 team. Meyer did a great job with the Utes after making Bowling Green a top 25 team as well. His first year with Florida wasn't overly impressive, but not disappointing either. I expect that he will be able to make Florida a national title contender again from the SEC.

Bet ya that Florida kicks themselves everyday and says, " What were we thinking? Why didn't we show more interest in ol' Spurrier?" Meyer's first year at Florida has gone pretty rough.

this guy will make football history! he does it the right way
Landersj 04/27/2005
WAY too early for this guy! Prove it in the SEC!
cvijic 03/31/2005
Fantastic coach. Florida gets maybe best ever. Why? Look what he did with mediocre Bowling Green and slightly better Utes. He will catch another national title for Gators. Not in 2005. 2006 is reality. Good recruiter and excelent coach.
GOTIGERS 03/27/2005
GOOD JOB AT UTAH BUT HASNT PALYED A GOOD TEAM OTHER THAN TX A&M EARLY IN THE YEAR BEFORE A&M FOUND THEMSELVES. WELL WILL SEE HOW REAL FOOTBALL IN THE SOUTH TREATS THIS FRUIT CAKE.

Bet he wishes he would've been offered the ND job.

Great young coach. Gets the job done. If I were hiring, he'd get a call from me.
alpepper 11/02/2004
All indications say he is one Heck of a coach. On track to getting the Utes to a BCS Bowl. He will be moving onward and upward to a major BCS school very soon.
Umar Deneb 10/30/2004
Flying high now.
Kirk Hatch 10/30/2004
He needs to do it at a BCS school.

Amazing coach, hands down. Everything Urban Meyer touches turns to gold, and Utah better live it up because he will making $3 million in Florida next year.
Carol Olack 10/26/2004
Everybody wants him, lets see what he does on the higher level.
blackbuddah 09/23/2004
For the first time since I can remember there is an excitement about Utah football that is feeding on itself. Urban is exceptional when it comes to preparation and intensity, but the way he actively campaigned last year to fill the seats and rally excitement has turned the stadium from a yawner on game day (I was there) to the hottest ticket in town. This guy is as good as they come- his confidence and motivation are suberb.

Looking great!

Next stop Penn State, Pitt or Notre Dame!

I wish you'd stop downplaying the Mountain West, PBeavr. It is without a doubt the fastest-improving conference in D-I and has several teams with a chance to succeed in any given BCS conference. In fact, right now, it's on par with the Big East, and could easily rival the PAC-10 in the next decade or so. Utah is ranked in the Top 25 preseason polls for several reasons. Firstly, eleven wins is not an easy feat in ANY conference. Secondly, it beat both top mid-majors AND solid BCS schools. Colorado State, TCU, Oregon (the same squad that beat Michigan), just to name a few. Thirdly, you know something's going on when you become (arguably) the top mid-major program almost overnight - Meyer really is that good, and Utah can compete with virtually any team in America.
zephyr 04/09/2004
If you are to rate a coach from a mid major program you rate him on how he did against those teams, not on how he did against the top conferences. None the less he has been outstanding against the bigger conferences
big money 03/29/2004
takes the utes to their first conference title in 40 something years! Turned around both programs he has headed in no ime flat! This coach is on his way up and utah will be lucky to hold on to him for to much longer.
Smokefree 11/06/2003
This guy is way too high on this list. Good coach? Yes This good? Hardly
joenobk 10/10/2003
We need to rate Whittingham as he carries the team. Urban looks very promising.
codeRed 10/03/2003
Look what he's done at Bowling Green and now at Utah. The next great one on his way up.
