08/06/2008 | ok, HOLY FARKIN SHIAT!!! I usually eat two or three large fries at mcdonalds, they are like a dream. Slightly crispy, a lil salty, SO FARKIN GOOD. Makes me wanna, like dirty dance with a bunny. Seriously, with ketchup, these fries are like an UNBELIVABLE taste pleasure in your mouth, you will want to eat and eat these till you PUKE. 05/06/2008 | When they are fresh and lightly salted McDonald's french fries are as good as any others. The consistency is terrible though, some places drench them in salt and every McDonald's uses a batch until it's gone whether it is cold and stale or not.

04/12/2008 | I heard that an ingredient in McDonald's fries was beef flavoring. I decided to check it out on their website, and sure enough. Now every time I go through the drive thru, I can't help but think of the beef flavoring in the fries. Also, they have too much salt, and sometimes they are over cooked. On many occasions, they tasted like they were left over from lunch and had been heated up many times between the lunch rush and mid afternoon. McDonald's isn't at the top of my list for places to get fries.

04/11/2008 | It will obviously be regarded as heresy by the other folks rating here, but I think these are revolting. They don't even have the texture of real potatoes, and I suspect they are reconstituted mashed and reformed before frying. I don't like fast food fries, and I much prefer the thicker cut fries served in several localized chains near my home. And if a Mick doesn't know potatoes, who does?

The only place to have fries that good has been whataburger.

In pursuit of blackened alligator [I was disappointed..this place is no Ralph & Kacoos], I stumbled upon some of the most wonderful fries at, of all places....Pappadeaux's! Me and the little guys couldn't get over our find! You can't drive up to the window for these but you can slide up to the bar ;) Carry on.

My only complaint would be that stupid sleeve they serve them in. You can't stand it up and too often they don't fill it completely.

03/26/2006 | Being a child of the 60's and from a lower income family, McDonalds was a treat reserved for special occasions. I grew up worshipping the fry basket. Nothing was better than McDonalds fries. Now that I can have them anytime I want, they have somewhat lost the childhood appeal. Like other raters have noted, if you can get the fries freshly and properly cooked, they're still pretty good. All the health concerns aside, it's still one of the better fries out there.
