The would have been Fight of the Year 2002, but the rubbermatch between Ward and Gatti topped it later in the year. The consensus is that this fight was not as vicious as the first, but that does not mean it wasn't at all vicious. The high standards that were set by the first fight make this one look technical in the eyes of all who watch it. Gatti just completely out boxes Ward, who shows tremendous heart and resilience after being knocked down. The fact that this was the least amazing fight of their trilogy attests to it's greatness.

Not as vicious as the first fight, but still great stuff. Also, Gatti's rediscovered boxing skills were a blessing to see.
