Edgy and enlightening. You have to listen for more than a few minutes to filter out some of the wackos.
jgls 08/23/2009
He's batshit crazy, but never dull.
Kitty77 01/24/2009
I always liked listening to him when I lived in Fort Worth, and also George Noory. They usually had an interesting show. The stations in my new town don't carry the show, unfortunately. I miss it.
Wallcrawler 12/31/2008
Art Bell Kicks ASS!!!!! George Noory is not even a decent replacement for him on Coast to Coast.
Yeah ART!!!!!
goldengrain 12/01/2008
I am sorry for anything and everything!. Please, come back to us, Art. Noory is destroying your creation. I hate to see it die.Help!
dep483 11/20/2008
Wish he would come back to radio
huekucket 10/19/2008
I really enjoy his shows. They stimulate me intellectually.
daves111 09/16/2008
Off the air... why still even listed?
LRPharm54 07/21/2008
He is honest, straight forward, no nonsense, educated, and not too bias on most issues. I like his style, his voice and his professionalism.
tommy1 02/03/2008
THE BEST TALK SHOW HOST IN THE WORLD. I truly wish he would come back and take back C2C.
palloo 09/22/2007
How we wish he'd come back!
dave412 06/30/2007
I have been huge fan of his for years. I don't know if I believe everything I hear on his show, but it certainly is entertaining. As for his rather quick remarriage, I myself believe everyone has a different way of dealing loss or grief. Art, you have my vote for talk radio host-of-the-century. Thanks for your time and effort.
Cosmic 05/27/2007
Art has too many phony guests with phony conspiracies.
opal1971 04/26/2007
I have an interest in the supernatural so I enjoy the content of the show. I have a hard time listening to him now though since I learned that his wife of many years died very suddenly, and a couple of months later he married another woman about 40 years younger than himself and left the country. That whole situation sounds very suspicious to me, and gives me a very bad feeling about him.
GenghisTheHun 03/28/2007
I like radio about stuff that goes bump in the night! I am a skeptic but listening is still fun.

He keeps me up all night!!!!
Lorenzo56 01/22/2007
I was hooked on the older Coast to Coast show in 1998. I still love the show. However, Art himself seems to have a big more arrogance and anger these days than before. That has sullied his participation in the show. George Noory has maintained the older spirit of the show and is--at thise point--a better host for that format. Great show.
averageguy48 04/13/2006
One of the best! Always like Art's shows!!
Silver Eagle 252 04/02/2006
Certainly gets high marks for filling the late night radio gap with interesting if not always credible subject matter. Excels at the interviewing. Even if you don't buy into all the topics, they usually give you something to think about.
AtlantisSurviv or 02/26/2006
Art is the best. He is witty, intelligent and quite the entertainer. When I support the sponsors, I am sure to tell them Art sent me. I listen to Art every chance I get, even if its 1-4 AM. He's that good.
Drummond 12/15/2005
You know, real world science is actually quite fascinating. A shame he can't make the connection.
reaverto 10/28/2005
I started listening to Art in '97 as the whole "Hale-Bopp" controversy was under way. At that time, it was the most interesting show on radio. I have noticed that Art has gotten somewhat grumpy of late. I'm sure part of it is to do with his personal life which I won't detail here, suffice to say, I would be grumpy too. Art is an excellent listener and conversationalist although at times he can come off as a bit arrogant with a "Foghorn Leghorn" persona. Art has also "quit" broadcasting many times and then has come back on air which undercuts some of his credibility. George Noory is a worthy successor.
lotus-moon 08/13/2005
Art is a seasoned, professional broadcaster. I wish there were more like him!!

Art Bell gets five star for his CREATION Coast to Coast Am. A talk show unlike any other, Art can be proud. Few people took his show serious, as a matter of fact they would never admit they were listening to this nonsense. It has evolved into what I deem must hear. Here is why: Topics an abundance of topics, some will put to test listeners imagination while others their common sense. Most do both, just like a good book. Whatever the curious minds desire, Art will hire, guests that is, from experts to fanatics, intellectuals to lunatics he offers them all. Who's what in some categories are the listeners decision to make. The guests rewards, exposure of their books lots of books and a few VHS's, DVD's and a newsletter now and then. The more the implements that affect society go high tech, including imagination destructing special effects and in one ear out the other, the more people crave for something out of the extra-ordinary and Art Bell and his Coast to Coast AM delivers like no one else. Any listener that is still ashamed to tell or recommend this must hear show to his acquaintances, has either not listened to it for years or tuned in during an on the fringe topic. {On the fringe is in the ear of the beholder}. Some of us close a door when it should be open. Demand for AM talk radio is good, however there is more chaff than wheat. East coast listeners are out of luck because of the time zone Art's show airs from 1:00 AM to 5:00 AM. Art Bell has an unique style and is easily recognizable by his made for radio voice, a gift very few radio talk show hosts possess. I am sure that voice smooth as honey has made some money. Every listener knows about the two lovebirds Art and Ramona and their passion for cats. Talking about cats, he hissed wing nuts I was totally surprised so were other. All things considered, lets call a spade a spade it is a nice way to say you are crazy. Being analytical a wing nut has threads right down the middle, it has two wings and holds something in place that makes it practical. So lets call a spade a spade. Perks associated with his programs are well selected music and news clips. Advertising's are grouped together for as few interruptions as possible. The callers to the show represent all segments of society and contribute to his programs in an unique way. Art informed his listeners that he will become even more reclusive by hosting on only two Sundays a month. All things considered, if Rush is the king and if the chips fall right Art Bell will step in because he created an Empire that promotes the positive and that should make him king of talk radio.

As much truth as Rush, twice the facts and content, half the nastyness.

So boring
Pretty Buffy 06/21/2005
Great radio voice and personality. Compels you to listen.
James76255 05/16/2005
A bit of a strange bird, but not as far into outer space as his reputation. He certainly makes for an entertaining ride home for those of us working odd hours.
Tesla's Revenge 05/03/2005
Art Bell simply knows radio, that's number 1. Therefore he found a great realm of topics that he was able to expand upon, find authors and guests to help understand the topics and run with it. He makes it clear that he allows the guest to do their thing, convey all they have to offer in their research/knowledge/beliefs and does an excellant job with his interviewing skills to get all he can out of the guest. He does have some of his own opinions, like everyone else, but uses them sparingly as to not skew the show. His mind is always at work, creative in advance as well as spontaneously. Does not screen calls which has yielded some wild new topics & phenomena that spurs others tell their story as well. Though only on the weekends (Sat & Sun nites) in his semi-retirement, his on-air exploration is more limited because of time. Those who have only listened to 10-15 minutes of his show and made a snap judgement that he's strictly some kind of 'alien freak' are idiots. There's only so much one can talk about Roswell, and he's well aware of that. Therefore, you'll get physicists, scientists, maybe the libertarian presidential candidate or Willie Nelson talking about his the fuel his bus runs on. He was a pioneer in creating a website for his show many many moons ago before anyone else. Catch him sometime if you can stay up that late, before he may decide to retire for good someday.
X Factor Z 04/18/2005
Absolutly the best! Not a political propagandist, but does have strong opinions on many issues. Topics and guest run the gamut from theoretical physics, nanotechnology, alternative energy and of course, ghost and UFOs.
37102002 04/03/2005
more for his content than his talent. his show is on the fringe. I like that.
tin man 08/24/2004
knows how to drum up buisness
DRS 08/20/2004
A reasonably entertaining host. Unfortunetly, very little of the meat of his program is credible. Art would do well to verify the veracity of his guests, and spend less time on sensational apocalyptic tabloid-like stories, and more on actual unexplained mysteries. The program also suffers from a feeling over over-commercialism, not only in the excessive advertisements, but also in the constant plugs to books or videos that lack any real credibility. George Noory is far superior host.
desertsoul7 07/26/2004
Art Bell is THE King of Radio!
louiethe20th 06/10/2004
I enjoy Art when George Noory is not on, but he is a little too far left for me. Not as in politics, but as in Out in leftfield.
marcm9999 05/03/2004
Not as good as he used to be.
kyeseki 04/09/2004
Coolest man on radio.
Bleh 03/27/2004
Good. Not quite as good as he used to be but still able to work his way around an interview. MUCH better than his replacement, George Noory. It takes a certain type of intellect to do this sort of nutty show without making it sound like a sixth-grade ghost story session. Art appeals to the eclectics. Noory appeals to the idiots.
funkywb 02/25/2004
Art Bell is a wonderful talk host. the topics are for entertainment purposes. There is some interesting, credible information there too. Art can elicit from guests better than any other talk host. His OH can be a statement, a question or a follow through and lead-in to more information. He is a classic. Miss him in semi-retirement.
wcstflyer 02/21/2004
In the past without question the best in avante-garde unconventional radio. Now in semi-retirement Art releys too much on his standard staple of past guests rather than exploring new uncharted heights.
Moosekarloff 01/19/2004
This guy has about the most boring, inane show on the air. All that nonsense about UFOs and inexplicable phenomena: who cares? No wonder they put this guy on in the middle of the night: those few insomniacs who do tune in to this program are likely to conk out after listening to about 15 minutes of this nonsense.
