Above-average, pissed-off, middle-aged white-guy radio in the metro DC area. . .the way they treat callers is hilarious, but the show does get repetitivie. . .

Don & Mike are syndicated around the U.S. and can now be heard via an internet stream. Their home website is http://www.donandmikewebsite.com. They're not for everyone, certainly not for those who can't let go of the politically-correct stick up their wazoo and grow a sense of humor. If you are easily offended, don't bother. They are sometimes juvenile, petty, hypocritical, opposed to criticism. In their words, "equal opportunity offenders". They're not always mean but they pick their spots. They are what they are. But they ARE funny, often entertaining and to their listeners, addictive. More so than any other radio show that I've ever heard. I am roughly their same age, mid-40s, so I do relate to them often. What sets them apart from any other of their genre is the taking of truly unscreened phone calls. Not all of their callers are unscreened, but I'd estimate half. Their ability to roll with these unscreened calls, and whatever else that interrupts or captivates their attention, brings a spontaneity and "live" atmosphere that no other show has. Don Geronimo is the 'captain' of this format and makes it work the vast majority of the time. He is a long-time DJ who credits a radio host by the name of Steve Dahl (yes, before even Howard) with giving him the idea to host his pseudo-shock talk format. Mike O'Meara is the main buddy; I'm sure he doesn't appreciate sidekick or second banana. He simply is the best impressionist radio performer that I've ever heard (harder to pull off than TV i.m.o.). Some of his voices are so dead-on that they could fool just about anyone. I could provide a list but there are just too many to mention. He plays off of Don like no one can. His ability to adlib "in character" is amazing too. There are 3 or 4 other main contributors: Buzz the perverted news guy from Kansas; Robb the game show addict, master of useless trivia, producer, "writer", and occasional hate-monger; Joe and John the go-fer guys who take calls in the back room. I've been listening for probably 13 years but still can't wait to tune in. When you see poor ratings of these guys, here's my take: It's either the aforementioned person without much sense of humor, or a fan of some other radio show with an agenda. Don & Mike threaten other shows because of their pure talent and success. True, they haven't made it in the huge markets, but I also believe they have never been backed or given the promotional support that other successful shows have had to help jumpstart a following / fan base. They probably wouldn't appreciate this, but they are the Seinfeld of radio talk shows because so much of what they do is "about nothing" and unscripted but they pull it off.

Brutally honest radio. Addictive. A great distraction to everyday drama. The best on the dial PERIOD.

Don & Mike just aren't that funny. There are some bits that I hear that keep me entertained, but as a whole, I don't find their show that easy to listen to.

Don and Mike used to be good, but then they became John Kerry's butt boys. Personally I still listen, but go out of my way to not support their errant views by avoiding their sponsors. Its not that they plan to vote for Kerry, its how they gleefully repeat negative lies about the President and how they do not give our troops overseas the full support they deserve which bothers me.

Absolutely unfunny and irritating. It seems like every show sounds like this: Bitch...Penis...Bitch...BELCH...PENIS...BITCH...PEN IS...BELCH...BITCH...BITCH...PENIS...BELCH...Hey, we're number one in Philly.

Don and Mike are very inventive and original. I could easily see them taking the Stern slot when howard is forced off or moves to satellite.

Don & Mike are the biggest douches there ever were. They blamed Opie and Anthony for failing in NYC, but were on for 2 1/2 years and got a .08. I agree with you, you agree with me. Hi Boo-Boo! They are AWFUL!

Geronimo (Mike Source)is a total pile of dung, and O'Meara is not far behind him.

HORRIBLE! My GOD! They took O&A off the air and replaced them with the airwave equivalent to HIV. DIE!

Haven't heard the show in a while because the Austin station changed formats. But when it was on, it was the funniest show I had ever heard. I couldn't wait for the next show!

Radio Gods!!! Oh how I miss them so. I live in Dallas and we don't get them here.

This is by far the best long-running syndicated comedy show on the airwaves today. Stern can eat one, because with just Don & Mike, more fun can be had in one four hour shift than a week of Stern's regurgitated hack crap.
