the 'way too smart for sportsradio crowd' is always a good laugh.
letsplaytwo08 11/07/2008
Way to smart for the normal sports radio listener. Catch up people and stop allowing yourself to be dumb down by Mike and Mike in the morning.

He is awful. Replace him, please.
texaschili2005 01/02/2008
Not the worst, but far from the best.

never heard of

Amazing on the radio. Amazing.

HR is abolutely terrible on MNF. i can only hope that espn does not bring him back next year.
NDRocks 11/15/2006
Tony is perfect for MNF. I think he will eventually be able to mesh with Joe T's monumental ego, which is a very difficult task indeed -- Tony needs to be doing the bulk of the talking in that booth. He's smart, funny and is a sports guy. It saddened me that he had to give up his radio show (which was the best thing on radio or tv), but it was hard to pass up the MNF gig. He's doing great.
maciasca 10/30/2006
Smart guy but he does not belong on MNF. Stick to PTI.
PlayahatingTOd ummy 10/24/2006
Kornheiser's is a "stupid smart ass" if that makes sense. He talks just to fill the dead air time and often rants about a sport he's never played. And he's not funny! That entire crew is going to turn views off of ESPN and MNF.

Worst ever.

He's going to ruin Monday Night Football dudes. Monday Night Football trios don't work dudes.
CinciRatPack 02/09/2006
Nobody beats Tony. He doesn't build his show around topics designed just to stir up controversy like The Herd does. He's original, funnay and best of all, comes accross like a regular guy. Radio at it's best. I listen to Tony each day over the internet.

Glad to have him back here in DC on sportstalk 980. He is much better than Colin Cowherd.
Hawkeye1 07/19/2005
Listen to him on the stream 980 sports talk... great radio!
Master-Shake 05/13/2005
Mr. Tony kicks butt. Ohhh he made fun of Tuscaloosa...sheesh. Good thing he never makes fun of himself or anything else. The people who don't like kornheiser don't get Kornheiser. Cute thing about the guy whining in Al a'Bama, his market is XM (National, and sportstalk 980 DC area) so go ahead, spend your time depriving yourself of Nascar and WWE tryng to get someone taken off in your market that's not even in your market. Then you can help out Sisyphus with that rock he's movin'.

mr tony is just a smart and funny guy. sports or no sports.
Jimmie 02/03/2005
A few night ago Kornheiser made some very nasty remarks about our city (Tuscaloosa, Alabama). His comments only show him to be a self-serving jerk. I have listened to his show several times on a local talk radio station and find him to be ill-informed and sarcastic. A move is underway to have his program removed from this market.

How do you rate someone highly who yanked himself off the air. Was great in his day.
puff1968 01/06/2005
Bring back Mr. Tony!

tony is really good and gets it. He's not for the 20 something, but for everyone else, he's great!
CanadaSucks 09/12/2004
Funny, literate, and relevant. Tony is a dying breed- a sportswriter who actually understands history and literature. Some of the people I know complain about a few of his references being obscure, but I think Tony's a great radio personality.
storminator16 09/07/2004
I agree with alpepper's comments, 100% of what I would have said. That was not sports radio, and Michael Wilbon is as equally uninformed. I like to listen to the ol' nagging wife...errrr..Mr. Kornheiser but he was a bit nerve racking at times. His standing up to ESPN and his constant jabs at Jim Rome were unprofessional and downright silly. If you like that sort of thing, then good for you.
alpepper 06/21/2004
Kornheiser's schtick as the angry old man waxing angst against professional sports and deriding everyone remotely involved in sports as a YEEDIOT was hilarious...at times. More often than not, it grated on my nerves. Kornheiser is really more suited at reporting arts and entertainment than sports. He does not study sports and has no contact with professional athletes (he says he can't stand talking to them because they are all idiots). He only interviewed equally uninformed sportswriters. While Tony was a font of knowledge about old-time sports, it's obvious he doesn't follow it as much anymore. Some examples of this: He didn't know the name of the eventual Heisman Award winning QB for Oklahoma is; he blasts Army for firing their football coach (while totally unaware of the reason Army canned him was because of lack of ethics and not lack of wins); or simply goes on the air on Monday morning and says College Football ... who cares. His radio show on ESPN (which was canned), was aggravating because he hardly ever talked about sports (he once spent a bulk of one show talking about the Broadway Tony Awards or what was going on on The View.) He refused to talk to listeners (a mainstay of sports talk radio) because he said they are all idiots. One thing I commend him for was that he was not afraid to stick it in the eye of ESPN (the evil empire) and railed them often. ESPN retaliated by suspending him for a month, then pulling the show off the air.

With guys like Kornheiser, it makes you wonder how people can tolerate garbage like Rome and JT
Ninobene 04/15/2004
Nobody stinks quite like Andy Polley and Mr. Tony. I look forward to his return. Thak God I am in DC where I will be privileged to listen to his wit again.
TKM0003 11/12/2003
Hideous, just hideous. An embarrasment to the Worldwide Leader in Sports.
