01/26/2006 | Perhaps the best example of what I call "Disgusting Rock." The "snots runnign down his nose," stuff, etc. Some very good songs ("Mother Goose," "Locomotive Breath,") on this concept album with very little of what John Lennon once called "slog." Well played and produced. Perhaps the band's best album.

12/11/2005 | Somewhat pretentious: Anderson had a beef with organized religion. 4 or 5 of these tracks were AOR staples, but there are some other good tracks such as "My God" on this. I actually find it to be the least interesting of their early albums, this was the 4th. I find the 2nd, "Stand Up," to be the best, though 'Aqualung" is indeed better than the debut "This Was" or the 3rd "Benefit," though both were fine records.

03/22/2004 | Jethro Tull is among the best band in all of Rock. This is their signature album.
They are among the most creative, adventurous bands out there. Soaring flute passages are interwoven with solid hard giutar leads. It's deceptively infectious initially, but utterly complex as rock/pop goes. Anyone interested in Jethro Tull should grab this collection.
