 | spajunky (0) 01/11/2008 | I'm well acquainted with this spa and Vickmay is a scam artist. She encourages deceptive practices among her staff and can't hold onto help for more than 6 months at a time. She is always late, unapologetic and doesn't regard gift certificate or package clients highly. Once she has your money, she doesn't want to book you. You'll find yourself waiting for an appointment, until she has a "freebie" slot open. She doesn't wash her linens in hot water, does not change out her microderm hoses and puts her counter help in charge of recommending products for her customers. She has a few favorite customers that she treats well, but unless you sign up for extensive and expensive treatments, you will never actually see Vickmay. Her staff are usually young and inexperienced, I saw her refuse to hire several very qualified people because they were too old, unattractive or fat. She thinks very highly of herself, but she's a one-trick pony. She'll upgrade your facial with a peel or other unnecessary treatment, because she wants to milk you dry. She is an ignorant person that spouts off what sales reps for her equipment have told her, she has little concept behind the actual science of skincare. She encourages her staff to fudge measurements on "slimming" bodywraps that have no basis in science and has even wrapped people in water, when her supplies ran out. I would recommend sticking to an actual dermatologist for your medspa needs or go to another salon for a relaxing experience. Vickmay is all hype and should really be put out of business

The atmosphere is sublime and serene, the treatments are devine. When it's time to give a gift, I choses gift certiacates from Vickmays for my friends. They love it, and I know they will be treated like royalty.

I can't say enough about how great my massage and facial were. They really listened to my needs and concerns. I've been to many spas, and it doesn't get much better than this. The highest recomendation I can give. All my friends will get gift certificates to Vickmays, because I know, they will be treated like special guests.

 | patann (0) 10/07/2006 | My sister also received a gift certificate since her spa appointment began 30 minutes late. Since she moved away from Austin, she gave the gift certificate to me. I called 4-5 times to try to schedule an appointment with Vickmay. I even visited the spa. Each time I was to told I would get a call back. I never got called back. Finally, I made one last frustrating attempt to call them and the receptionist allowed me to schedule an appointment. To my dismay, I was called the day before my appointment and told that I was not allowed to use my sister's gift certificate (for no reason) and that I would have to show an ID at my appointment. The whole thing was ridiculous. I told them to cancel my appointment and that we would never come back. Why give a gift certificate if you're not willing to honor it? I will never consider that spa again.
