I called Dr. Browne yesterday -- I know I know.....why did I wait 35 plus cell phone minutes to talk to this woman? Deep down inside, I think we all want some 'airtime'. The end product was that she talked and talked about her situation and never really asked me the specifics of my situation. As a result, I was left dumbfounded and 'used'. She needed someone to be a part of her show and I bit the bait. I hung up thinking the very words that Dr. Browne has used to describe internet communications......she gives you a false sense of intimacy. Dr. Browne
is just a show....she does not care about you...she does not know you or your problem. Your problem has to be 'solved' in 30 seconds and if you cannot articulate your issue concisely and quickly, things will get very muddled and she will always, always have the last word.

The good part about the conversation was that I realized that my issue(s) have to be discussed with a professional who can give me time and skills to figure out healthy solutions.

So be wary folks. If you have an issue that needs time and a thorough analysis, please don't call Dr. Joy.

Dr. Joy Browne is so rude and cruel. I think when people call her they are a bit nervous. Not because they are on the radio, but because they are airing a very personal problem to the listeners. If someone mistates their issue and wants to explain it further, she cuts them off immediately and says that perhaps their problem is that they don't listen. She states her opinion with so little information and her answers are so cliche. Ugh! I can't listen to this arrogant woman any longer.

Dr Joy. I just can't listen anymore!I think her constant use of the words"cherub" and "cookie" are condesending. Her, Her "quiet and cheerful"method of dealing with people who attack you is BS!And the other day a man called her and said his wife was smoking pot,even after he asked that she not as a condition of their marriage, and she said "So, what is your problem with her smoking?".Duh...it's ILLEGAL. Try explaining it to your kids when mommy get's busted. I think her real issue was a man demanding accoutability from his wife. Can't have that, can we!She is an elietist,socialist, liberal, and thinks we are all to dumb to figure it out.

This woman is so incredibly arrogant! She is constantly touting how brilliant and educated she is. We get it, can you get over it? Lots of people are smart darlin!

She is very intelligent but far too impatient to really listen to the caller's question. Anticipates the questions before callers can ask, and is often rude

Shes a sincere Dr. who tries to help people,and you can hear it in her voice! Unlike the NAZI witch Dr. Laura who spills hate, hate, and more hate!

Dr. Joy appears to really care with whom and to whom she gives advice. She alwayz presents both sides of the coin. However, she is adamant about her 1 year rule (and shez right) and physical abuse (first sign to get the HELL out)....

Brown gives good advice,but so could any one with average intellegence. Better than Dr. Laura. I,like a lot of others, think psychotherapy is an illegitimate proffession created to enrich its practioners and generate a false place and need for itself.

really excellent no nonsense advice that does not belittle the intelligence of her callers. highly reccomended!

Love her show. Advise that you can actually use and live with. Not at all like that other judgemental, hateful show on the radio. Wendy
