 | BenWaitin (0) 08/23/2007 | Having the courage to NOT be "liked" is what we need more of , not less. When did the bedwetting sect truly take over in America?
I sometimes grow tired of his "I was the first one.." meanderings... But, overall, he is the ONLY radio show host who calls EVERYONE out. I'm not listening to radio to find Superman. There is no such person.
What I appreciate is someone who has the talent to haul the dirt out to the open air. NO hesitation or reservation. Drag it out, lay it out, and let's discuss it.
Somehow, this notion of "if I disagree with you on ANY point, you need to be silenced" mentality has become FAR too prevalent.
I suspect that MOST people who really dislike the Savage program reach that conclusion because they aren't really smart enough to keep up.
I was listening the other day when a caller said "...you are too hard on your callers". Savage replied "Please, explain to me when I'm too hard on my callers." The caller stammered and hum-hawed for a bit, then offered up THIS gem "Well, when people call in who don't know about something, and, you know, they want to find out something..." Savage interrupted "Then they shouldn't call up, they shoud shut up and listen. Why call in about something if you don't know what you are talking about..?" EXACTLY. This isn't government sponsored education. If you don't know, then learn. If you think you know, then call in. If you don't care, then turn the channel.
Opinions are only valid if they are derived. If you can DEFEND your opinion, then you have one. If you CAN'T defend it, then it's just a notion, or a feeling, and is NOT up for discussion.
Grow up people!

 | steviednj (0) 04/17/2007 | Michael Savage is the only voice that I have heard speak openly about all the important topics circulating around the media today. He has a higher education and is confident in answering questions and debating issues even with high ranking politians. Many of these so-called politians elected to represent our best interests do not have an original thought in their brain. These puppets read from lawyer filtered scripts written by speech-writers and skirt answering the questions that they have not been scripted to answer. Michael Savage does not. More often than not he is opposite of soft-spoken, though, many will agree that out of all the potential presidential candidates ( Hillary, Obama, etc.), he is the figure that our country would feel most secure as Commander in Chief of the United States Armed Forces.
Do your homework, research the candidates and what they stand for utilizing various media resources, remember to not believe everything you hear, use your educated mind to pose questions and formulate answers, sometimes agree to disagree, and employ these freedoms that so many are dying for you to have.

 | daedalus (33) 04/16/2007 | *I regret giving him two stars after the last comment I heard from him (or will ever hear) make. He actually tried to make a connection between the mass murderer at Virginia Tech and Iran President Ahmadinejad. Clearly he is without class, dignity and shame and can't wait for this sort of thing to happen so he can peddle his filthy fear-mongering.
I give him two stars because he cracks me up with his New Yorker/Yiddish accent and the unbelievability of most of his claims and opinions. I had to rate him today because I heard him defaming Clint Eastwood and "Letters From Iwo Jima." Savage was criticizing him for making a "propaganda film" that did not bother to use a post-script to note all of Japan's atrocities in WWII (which were considerable and are often somewhat overlooked because of the enormity and horror of the Holocaust). However, the movie was dealing with one battle in particular not the war in general. Calling it a propaganda film is ridiculous when Eastwood first made "Flags of Our Fathers" to show the American side of the battle. In this same show he was ranting about Diane Sawyer's apparently spineless interview with Iranian president Ahmandinejad. His anger was pretty funny and he went on to warn of the "governmental media complex." When are these far right-wing radio morons going to notice they are a part of the media too?

 | Victor83 (35) 02/08/2007 | I am glad to know that at least a few people still know the difference between true conservatism (represented by Buckley, for one) and the mind-numbed Bush bots or neoncons. Buckley once commented on true conservatism, stating that "the government that governs least governs best"... Certainly not what we have now. Savage's show can be entertaining, but overall he is both arrogant and annoying.

 | illusionbuster (7) 01/12/2007 | Savage makes some point sometimes that other commentators's fail to see but I don't like Savage's attitude, he's very angry, impatient and intolerant of people who do not agree with him. People who call Savage on the radio have to say nice things to him and butter him up to keep from being snubbed or talked down to or cutoff on the phone.Savage has an arrogance about him and it shows in all he says ,he brags about how smart he is much of the time. When Savage brags about himself he is dead serious, when Limbaugh brags about himself it's to make fun of himself and make other people laugh.Savage is frequently in a depressed dark cloud negative mood, whatever he believes does not make him happy but a captive to gloom.

 | ZIPPY57 (2) 01/09/2007 | The bottom line is that he's funny and people feel compelled to listen. Whether you agree or disagree with him politically he still has a way of presenting his opinion in a very funny way. He sometimes reminds me of Lewis Black (delivery style only). I think his appeal is that he says what most people think and are afraid to say. While most liberals dismiss him as angry idiot, he has many opinions worth listening to. Get past the "shtick" and focus on the message. History may judge him as a man ahead of his time.

 | TB 303 (5) 05/24/2006 | I like him alot. | Rainstorm (0) 01/11/2006 | This is a hilarious show. His talk leans very very far to the right, and is rude and obnoxious. He does speak some truth, and makes some outlandish comments I don't agree with, but the fact of the matter is, even when he's being totally wrong, he is very funny. People who would follow all his teachings and preachings should probably get their heads checked, but he's entertaining in the rudest way at worst, and sometimes right at best.

 | Demanding (0) 08/12/2005 | ONE STAR Dr. Michael Savage Ph. D. definitely qualifies for Ripley's Believe It Or Not in the newly created The Most Savage Of Them All talk shows. He says what he thinks, and thinks what he says in a very unsophisticated way. Last time I listened he called a non-patriot a dirty rat and hung up on him. He is still resentful for being denied a teaching position at a major university, he blames it on quotas and calls it reversed discrimination. In hindsight the University used good judgement. He has taken kick in the door talk radio to a higher level. He kicks in the door and burns down the house to get his message out, he is brash, rude, offensive, even obnoxious. He is fully aware of the limits imposed by the FCC and exploits it to the fullest. Do not be fooled he loves and intends to shock and takes pride in it. His style {if you can call it that} has become his trademark. If the saying is true that loose lips sink ships, why not escort him to Iraq and air his show over a megaphone the so called insurgents that are really resistance fighters would be so enraged by his lets nuke em all they may self destruct. This is one of the few occasions that even if it were possible for him to patent his style, he would not have to worry about patent infringement. His high ratings has spurred imitators, although more restrained. Any listener to C-SPAN ouch or worse to Lars Larson will promptly recognize a Michael Savage fan, by his superior lets nuke Iraq remark. Rep. T. G. Tancredo, Colorado would consider dropping bombs on Medina and Mecca, preferably with tens of thousands of pilgrims in attendance. Shooting unarmed innocent Iraqi civilians in the back gets high fives, attaboy and American hero cheers and comments. In their opinion the Iraqi's or Muslims are terrorists. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you I wonder why any media companies and sponsors of products, especially large ones, want to promote, be it by association such uncivilized speech with syndication in prime time. Prime time my dears, equals seats in the sky boxes, the best seats money can buy. I am a proud owner of an Amazon parrot a bleeding heart liberal and an African Gray parrot named Muslim. They stopped talking in protest after they overheard Michael's bigotry and cruelty. My other two birds only have one right wing they lack balance but they are having the time of their life. Muslim lives in terror fearful he may be hauled off. My bleeding heart liberal is temporarily on Paxil. I should bill Mike for it. It has gotten worse he insulted my pet rat Dignity so bad that he started to talk and cuss in protest for being called a dirty rat. Let's call a spade a spade Why is it that anyone that is critical of Israel for using disproportional action against Palestinians, is called an anti-Semite. Shooting missiles at civilian cars in broad daylight in populated areas or bulldozing hundreds of buildings or orchards should be condoned? Where is all the anger and bigotry coming from? Could it be delayed side effects {nowadays referred to as collateral damage due to a constant diet of low IQ TV shows when he and his fans were growing up? {Good luck it has gotten a lot worse} That could explain to some extent the majority of votes in the Red States. The calls that make it on the air, are by the best, the brightest and the loudest kick down the door, kick butt and any thing goes PATRIOTS. The few calls by the non-patriots {thinkers} that the screener lets pass for the psychological mauling, must be either placed by masochists or the calls are staged. Why else would someone allow himself to be humiliated or hung up on in mid sentence. The sayings go, if you see someone jump off the bridge, would you jump also, and insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. To end on a positive note, he has his moments of brilliance this helps to explain his Ph D. He can also be very funny.

 | smithht6 (0) 08/11/2005 | This is the hard cold truth. Its not easy to listen to sometimes, but if we dont, we will pay for it in the long run. He is abrasive at times, but this is almost always directed toward callers who immediately attack him personally from the moment they are on the air. Why should he be restrained when they are not? Of course many may think that Savage should take the high road and simply roll over to these personal attacks, I dont. Thats what got this country in the mess that it is in now. Simply rolling over and giving in to every crazy leftist agenda out there is killing us. Political correctness and the inability to give up any civil liberties in the face of war can only lead to our demise. I would say that he shares my view that if the terrorist do not get us we will self implode. Every day I wake up and turn the news on almost expecting for another bomb to have gone off killing another 100 or so innocents. Make no doubt about it this is war. Everything he says is done with a clear and apparent emotional conviction that could only mean that he thinks that he is one of the few voices that is trying to save this country, and I for one agree.

I feel sorry for all you socialist, communist, totalitarian sympathizers who have NO clue about how great this country really is. ian goodale
First of all, I would like to ask Mr. Or Mrs. Ian goodale how many liberal arts majors who work for non profit groups there are in this country? Are all people who major in liberal arts liberals? Have good salt of the earth republicans neglected to take any liberal arts in college? If they had, would that make them less conservative? Should we send them to de-education camps so that they may have your real-world views. Is it your view that all education is liberal? I know many conservatives who went to college, like poetry, like liberal arts, and voted for Bush. Those damn liberals!
Also, arent conservatives entitled to have guns, post the ten commandments, push their religious views on others, and whine about liberals? Those damn liberals and their inventing of the term entitled to! I hear republicans whining all the time about views and concepts that America is entitled to. Turns out even conservatives have things they think that they are entitled to.
I feel sorry for you Mr or Mrs. Ian goodale that your weak mind has been led to these views by conservative radio and that you do not care that you are being led on. Maybe if you over-educated yourself in the liberal arts, you would understand that even you deep inside feel that you are entitled to many things (obviously not the same as those baby-killing liberals you like to complain about). Perhaps your problem is listening to those over educated conservatives who can make you believe anything they want you to because you are under educated.
Eat humble pie you hypocrite.
the truth is ...is that mike is right he probably is the most truthful human since 2004 years ago (and we all know who that was) however if you're a doped up lefty liberal, daydreaming drone than you would even say that jesus did'nt exist(you liberal losers could'nt possibly believe in christ because you accept homos and lesbos, lets face the facts you are sick, twisted dimmoralized, pervers, corrupted nazis )!! ericonthestand
Thank you for the transcription of the show ericonthestand! It is good to know that Michael Savage thinks that he is on the level of Jesus. Now I know who to pray to! Move over Jesus its Michael Savage! Again, where are your statistics to support that liberals couldnt possibly believe in Christ? Are you able to look into the hearts of Baptists, Lutherans, Episcopalians, Calvinists, Catholics, Pentecostals, Seventh Day Adventists and the like who call themselves liberals and determine truly their spiritual devotion to Jesus Christ? We had better pray to you ericonthestand, if you believe that you can judge other Christians, if you indeed are Christian. I suggest we form a ericonthestand evangelistic tour wherein ericonthestand will park outside of places of worship and blast these unbelievers as they leave their churches. I think some personal attacks are in order as you think that you are on the same level that Jesus is. Why dont you go burn their bibles, conservative? They couldnt possibly possess the same faith as you do! These doped up lefty liberals who think they believe in god should be sent to China because they are communists. Communists are all dope users, and what better type of communist is there than a homo or a lesbian? Ericonthestand, go forth wearing your KKK outfit and teach these demon spawn the error of their ways!
Michael Savage is the king of lies, who lies to get people to spread his lies. Schoolyard bullies who are fond of using profanity and dominating the weak are the listeners of his show, and they love it as we all can see. Dont analyze it, just believe it says Savage, and his faithful lemmings do to the very bottom of their hearts.

 | PMD (0) 08/04/2004 | Michael Savage deserves credit for being one of the biggest successes in jump on the bandwagon enterprises. The host's background is a veritable cornucopia of entrepreneurship. His former gig was peddling vitamins and supplements on the radio when that was the in thing to do. His interest in conservative talk radio was quite the surprise - he has no background in it, and the college degree he touts to back up his positions isn't for majoring in political science.
