Been a listener since his first night on KFI after he replaced Mr.KFI. He was a genious and his shows for many years were the best thing on radio. I almost drove my car off the road a few times from laughing at his bits. Seems now though he's lost it somehow. Apparently he doesn't take callers anymore which was 80% of what made the show funny. Also he is in a bad time slot for most of the eastern US which is where I am. His politics and way of talking over people who disagreed with him were always annoying but the comedy made up for it. Now it's different and he seems tired and less inspired than the old Phil we all knew before. He left what he did best (radio) and then tried to come back. But I'm guessing he pissed off a bunch of people when he did that so now he's paying the price. I heard also he got divorced so maybe that is a factor also. He doesn't sound as happy as he did before. A happy Phil in a good time slot with callers would be a LOT better for him AND us listeners IMO.

Why the fuck are people so uptight about a difference of opinion? If Phil Hendrie's politics annoy you, just don't listen. Who cares. I still think he's funny. I don't agree with half the shit Bill Mahr says, but he's fuckin' funny. Lighten up Danger. UNLESS, you're messin' around in the true spirit of Hendrie by saying something outrageously stupid and irrate in order to piss off all these people posting bulletins.... you know what... i'm onto you Dangger. I'm on to you.
Hall out.

It was a great show. I'm saying WAS because it now stinks. He just blabs about how great Bush is when I think he stinks (and I'm a conservative). What broke the camel's back was when I was listening to his broadcast for the first time after about an 18 month break away from him. All he did was praise Illegal Aliens and criticized how lazy American citizens are and how illegals should be treated like saints. Just in case Phil reads my review here's what I want to tell him: "Phil, I want to thank you for entertaining me for those several years. I really think you had a great show (during the KFI years). However, now you're a traitor to the American people. Your praise for illegal aliens made a LEGAL immigrant like me sick to my stomach. You are so DISCONNECTED from the law abiding legal citizens. Your show now stinks. I wouldn't download it for free. I don't wish you ill fate. However, you deserve what ever your career gets coming its way."

Phil's Show was the greatest until his national syndication where it went into the toilet real fast. Toward the end you could tell how much he hated his job and talk radio in general. In the early days in Miami he did some of the greatest radio ever. Once he got the big bucks it went straight to his head. Instead of doing the characters he was so good at he would blather about like one of the thousands of Limbaugh clones. It was really sad to see. He also couldn't stop with the look at me, look at me, I'm the guy in the box. He was so insecure with himself, he constantly had tell everyone the gag. Once everyone knew what was happened the callers dropped off. At this point Phil would blow his stack when there were no good callers. I was really fooled by this guy; he seemed a genuine cool guy, but sadly really was a pathetic loser. My advice to Phil....join the scientologists they seem to help everyone :)

A show that was funny night after night. Phil really knew how to do theater of the mind. He was a great change of pace from most radio shows. As a radio guy myself he really inspired me.

The Phil Hendrie Show is the greatest show in radio history, and that doesn't even do it justice. Phil Hendrie is a comic genius and unfortunately his talent has gone unnoticed by the general public. For more Phil stuff make sure to check out.

Host can be very entertaining if he doesn't get too ridiculous. The best parts are the music and noises he uses to 'distract' himself as well as the insults he hurls at unsuspecting callers.

His show will not last much longer because I personally feel this perverse acting has done him physiological and physical damage. How could a person do a show like this year after year and not have any emotional turmoil? Its always the same, perverse child porn type sexual content mixed in with a bunch god hate. It isnt funny at all, its disgusting and an embarrassing chapter in radio history. Take Care Sweet Feathery Phil!

Really funny! I love the characters. I even enjoy listening to Phil as himself just talking about his life. I get sick of all the pro Bush stuff, because I think Bush is a moron. Saying that you support him lumps you into a group of people that are very unappealing. Too bad that Phil took that route. I think it is a mistake...especially the way things are going right now with the Bush administration.

I only found the show maybe a year ago, but I stumbled upon it one night, and heard one of the "characters" explaining why blacks owe HIM reparations. He was white & said that his great great grandfather (i think) had slaves and when slavery ended his business went belly up and he & the family went into poverty because of it. Alright, i can't explain it well, but if anyone heard that one.. i laughed so much i thought i was going to puke. When I first listened, i thought it was real, till it went way overboard later that night. & i didn't know for quite some time that it was he that was doing the characters. NO show like this one. It's the only show i actually turn my tv off & lay on the couch to listen 2 at home. ;0

Phil's concept is hilarious, and I've enjoyed his bits over the years. I used to be able to listen daily, and the hilarity is in not knowing exactly how far he'll take the joke. That having been said though, the politics wears thin and it's completely misplaced. It might be different if it added to an existing act or in itself was compelling. It's not. And his listeners appreciate the farce and humor, not necessarily tuning in to a pro-Bush commercial, and I think his bits have suffered greatly for his proselytizing. Hendrie stuck to what he's classically done well -- comic farce -- versus a feeble attempt at being a Limbaugh/Hannity/O'Reilly clone. Otherwise, Hendrie's comic genius and wit are exceptional in his characters, and I look forward to more of him and hope he gets his act together to take to a wider audience.

Hendrie rocks. Plain and simple. He's got the most original show in the history of radio. So he interjects politics sometimes. Every damn star in hollywood interjects politics every time they fart in public. Let Phil be Phil and when we've finished kicking terrorist ass he will be back to comedy 100% of the time. Until then just shut your pie hole and enjoy the laughs.

OMG....get over the fact that he puts in about an hour of political commentary a week, and just listen to the show. If you could calm your beating heart for about 10 minutes, you would hear quite possible the funniest and most talented man to ever hit the airwaves. If you have listened since his early days in LA and Miami, you can see his progression. He used to commentate about his personal life every day in between "callers". But now he fills the extra hour with small bits that are borderline hilarious...have you heard his "Rap Radio"? Unbelievable. Unfortunately, the people upset here are the same ones who were suckered into the show to begin with, and fell for the "obviously" outrageous bits. Kudos to Phil....keep on keepin on.

Oh Phil, you used to be funny. I grew up in the Valley, just like ol' Phil - but I still have my sense of humor and ability to listen thoughtfully to those that have different opinions than I do...but then, I'm not a talk radio host - I guess that's the litmus test, you have to suck GW's ass or you get dropped. But Phil went from the #4 station in L.A. to #26!! Nice work Phil, you and the Mancow can spend your retirement telling each other how bleeping brilliant you were, and us normal schlubs just didn't get you. Shut up!

Nah! This guy blows! This guy is so scared of being called just another Rush Limbaugh or Bill O'reilly, that he claims that he is in fact a liberal democrat and not a just another run of the mill conservative infesting the radio waves. But we know better. You're not fooling anybody Phil! Besides, the guy is so full of himself. He's so set in his ways that he DOES NOT accept any views that differ from his own. So much so that in his show, he debates with HIMSELF! And he always wins! That's the Phil Hendrie Show! And if some poor bastard happens to get through his show and talk to Phil, this old, white, bald, angry, geezer barks him down if the listener says something that rubs Phil the wrong way (it always happens). And then it's back to talking and debating with himself! He invites you to go to his blog to read his views but if you make the mistake of posting a comment, good luck! You have better luck posting a comment and seeing published at Fidel Castro's blog. Phil will NOT tolerate different opinions. Not even if those opinions are RIGHT and they make his own opinons look stupid and immature! What a load of manure this guy is! He's just another conservative white, bald, fat guy all pissed cos America is no longer the America of the good old days (when the Clan was king!) ;) Get over it jackass! You're old and nobody cares about what you have to say. Bill Maher, now there's a guy with something to say! :D

3 hours of masterbation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Outside of Lee Klein and Romey your entire station is turning into crap. Clarabelle the clown in the morning. Laker Kiss Ass Show in the afternoon. Two more clowns from 4 to 7. Phil Hendrie is the greatest waste of air time ever. Your whole station is sinking or is it sucking? After listening to your station since about 1991, all i can say it now makes ESPN radio and even Petros sound like Vin Scully and Dick Enberg.

Interesting show. I like others am a little annoyed and disinterested when he starts to launch into his right wing tirades all of which have been done better by Rush, Hannity, etc. It's a comedy show for God's sake, so just stick to the comedy. His idea behind the show is brilliant and at first, he had me believing that his was a real show with real guests. It is worth checking into despite the political content. Lately, phil has been putting his lame political rants onto his own blog so his radio audience does not have to hear his warmed over ramblings. Funny.

It's one thing to hear the man slagged by idiots who don't get it, entirely another to hear whining from folks who disagree with his alleged politics. Whatever criticisms one might have of Phil's show must be tempered by comparing what he does to absolutely anything else in talk radio, get outta here, man......there's no comparison. His political rants can get tiresome, but he needs to fill the space between characters with something, and that involves acting like a typical radio blowhard - by definition, lame - before it was Bush and war, it was something else just as annoying. I didn't like it when he used to pass an hour with some left-wing tirade, but that didn't stop me from loving the show, I guess his lib hipster fans are a bit less forgiving than I am. It would be nice to be able to track down every bit you want to hear again, and the website is more than a little substandard when it comes to that, but so what? That criticism goes to the site, not the show......and why are you bothering to pay seven bucks a month when a virtually unlimited amount of his material is available through file sharing? Enough of the fanboy rants and lib-baiting. For those who aren't obsessive fans/critics of the show, I can only state the usual: if you detest talk radio, and I mean ALL talk radio, from political commentary to Howard Stern, you might really like Phil's program. It could take awhile, listen to it for about a month and let it sink in, many nights are dull but when he connects (and after a pretty lame spell there, he's been swinging pretty good lately), he can really knock 'em out of the park. The humor here can be amazingly mean and nasty, unafraid to take a crap on just about anybody or anything for laughs, and at it's best, it's completely brilliant.

Enjoying the backstage pass, devoid of commercials and at my fingertips for only seven snaps a month. On the other hand, I'm trying to remember, exactly when it ever was, that I used to think that the Air America Puipis was ever actually funny. Like, maybe the second time I ever saw him as Stuart Small. Honestly, can you actually deny to yourself the incredulity that there was ever even a movie made based on this character? Compare, contrast - discuss amongst your selves. The empty star is symbolic of the Philsters steady course of continuous improvement.

I have been a big fan of Hendrie since 1999. He is perhaps the most talented and original person on radio today with all his various characters, voices and comedy situations. It is very sad indeed that, due to his political rants and his poor attendance record (many of his shows were reruns the last few months), Phil has been relegated to a low-power, low-rated station like 570 AM. I believe this move was made by Clear Channel because (1)his recent behavior caused his ratings to plummet and (2) management thought he was getting too big for his britches and decided to put him in his place. KLAC has, and probably will continue, to pre-empt his program with sports shows, and that, apparently, is part of his punishment. He would be doing his Southern California fans a big favor if we could get his show live through streaming audio off of his website for free, but he continues to charge $6.95 a month for that privilege. My advice to him would be to grow up, eat a little humble pie, show up for work, and make his show and archives available at no charge, at least for awhile, until he can get back on KFI. With a no-talent John and Ken wannabe like John Ziegler, it shouldn't be long before that time slot on 640 AM is available again

Phil , despite kowtowing to Bush to get the FCC off his back, is the greatest genius in radio comedy. But some force (liberals, Maria?) have effectively knocked him out of his home Los Angeles market. His show allegedly moved to XTRA Sports 570 in the primetime 1900-2200 slot. But the show is preempted by any sporting event that is available. Here's some free abvice for Phil... (1) Let your comedy make your political points; (2) Don't tell people how great you are and how you do the voices; you'll get more unsuspecting callers who contribute greatly to the show; (3) Drop Cortoslim; (4) Get an agent who can keep you on a regular LA station during primetime. Good luck, Phil.

I don't know why this Phil Hendrie Show is on Xtra sports 570 in Los Angeles. This is obviously not a sports show, so I do not know why they would put such a show in the first place. Please get off the air and get back Crockett and Carlos Del Valle from 7pm -10pm on weekdays.

Phil Hendrie is simply the most talented man on radio. His entire show is truly comedy gold. His political rants are right on. Too bad if his anti-PC stances are offensive to the tender ears of some of his more sensitive listeners. KFI 640 AM in L.A. will lose both listeners and ratings by moving him to 570 AM.

I have loved the Phil Hendrie show. It is an original, and really does show (in comparison) the very low quality of entertainment that almost all other radio is giving us. On the other hand, Phil's political rants have not been enjoyable for me to listen to (and ARE like most other radio!). I am more liberal in my views, true, but this stuff gets mean spirited and condescending, as though he must be right, and you gotta be a dumby if you don't agree... I don't find this enjoyable or entertaining. It makes me agitated and angry, and what IDIOT would want put himself into that kind of a state? So, I thank Phil for the laughs and chuckles and improved spirits that he has given me (like when I had the flu and was even laughing in the midst of puking!), but if he insists on being right, then he will lose the ability to entertain a large portion of his potential audience.

I heard your show driving home from work. What a bunch of trash. This is just adolescent pimples that are pus. You call this entertainment? I emailed the radio station and totally complained, along with others, and you are off the station. So get it off of your list of radio stations, cause buddy you no longer exist in this town. Thank God, cause you extremely suck!

At first it was hard for me to get into the mind of Phil Hendrie. After a few minutes I had to turn those people off. But little by little, I realize they were quite talented and I had no idea where Mr. Hendrie could assemble a troupe of radio personalities who could consistently maintain a level of such peculiarly concrete thinking and personality disturbances. I thought they must be rehearsing constantly. One day I went onto his website and realized he's DOING ALL THE VOICES HIMSELF. He's a genius. For me, however, listening to his show is like eating a banana split. If you're not careful, you can overdo it! But there's no other show like this. (I also have come to appreciate his political monologues which I feel are right on target. His friendly, pseudo-obnoxious ranting style is quite pleasant I feel.)

This is simply the best show on radio. Either you get it or you don't. I can't help noticing that all the criticism of his show centers around not liking his oppinions on the Iraq war. Or so it would seem. Not any critique of the rythm or timing of the show, if his voice is good or not, wheather his voice compels you to keep listening or even his bumper music. Instead it's like:my feelings were hurt-one star. Nobody seemed to mind when Phil berated the Republicans for removing Governor Grey Davis, or his support for gay marrage or his making fun of Rush Limbaugh's drug bust. Nobody was offended when he raged against Ann Colter. Nobody quit listening to his show when he refered to Michael Savage as a Nazi. Nobody gave his show a bitter, sarcastic one-star rating for lambasting the fundamentalist Christian wing of the Republican party. But oh man! Explaining how a Democrat can support the war effort-OMG! take it off the air! What Phil did WAS show how a Democrat could support the war-or more precisely-the schizm within the Democratic party. Now THAT'S forbidden knowlege. The Schizm I refer to is between the traditional variety of Democrat and the Deanocrat. The Democrats were highjacked again, as they have been before from time to time. Phil showed the devide, and gets punished by the Air America fans. That is the real issue here. As Phil put it once, you're not entitled to have an oppinion of your own. Another thing about these one-star ratings. Notice how most of the critics of this excellent show only posted a rating on THIS show? Seriously-they logged on to this site just to whine about the Phil Hendrie show. No ratings for other shows, just this one. What's up with that? The Phil Hendrie show is a masterpiece of satire. Have you heard his parodies of Tom Laikis or Art Bell? When people get roped into the performance, the show shines. His genius in deducing peoples' intentions is quite remarkable. His show isn't for everyone, much to the delight of those that it is for.

Phil Hendrie is a tremendous talent and I enjoyed his show for many years until he was usurped by the ghost of Rush Limbaugh. What happened? Lobotomy? Now, like Dennis Miller he's just another right wing hack. Sad.

This program is trite. I don't mind right wingers if they have a point. The only thing he can come up with is overt rude shock jock wannabe segments. He transitions through these segments with ignorant baseless opinions that make the show sound condescending to itself. Ignorance is bliss, be happy somewhere besides Air America.

A fresh and funny show that gets you the first time, and makes you want to come back for more.
