Cashman can get players, Steinbrenner can pay (lots) for those players, Girardi can do his best to manage those players.....IN THE END, THESE WHO MAKE THE BIG MONEY HAVE TO PLAY!!!Jeter and Arod may more than the Rays whole team probably!!!I've stuck it out with the Yanks since 1960 so I'm not going anywhere, but I'M VERY UPSET ABOUT THIS YEAR!!Steinbrenner (Hank) should keep his mouth shut about basically throwing in the towel for this year! I'm sure that helped the team!!!

GET rid of MARIANO RIVERA already !!! He's gonna be the Yankees downfall... He was great when he was great, but he's not anymore... Look elsewhere for relief pitching... Get whatever you can for him... This guy hasn't been on since 2000...

Cashman is doing a great job in the 2006-2007 off-season by infusing the Yankee organization with young pitching talent while simultaneously ridding the franchise of older players whose productivity levels are clearly diminishing. The acquisition of Andy Pettitte is another smart move - a proven Yankee pitcher with a championship pedigree. These recent moves indicate that Cashman is firmly in control of the organization's personnel-related decisions.

Being a die hard Yankees fan, it is hard for me to be hard on mr. Cashman. So I rate him as Ok, only because of his effort to keep New York in contension. He has made some great deals & signed some great players, but with that said, Mr. Cashman has been here for 8 years and at 38 years of age he should realize that to place your name in Yankees history, he should start to establise the dynasty that gave the Yankees the nickname Bronx Bombers! If Mr. Cashaman reads this I would like him to e-mail me and we can discuse how to do this. Today is 01/27/06 and I would like to be a consultant for Mr. Cashman or maybe just discuse my ideas with him.

Money, money, money... who couldn't win with the largest payroll. And he hasn't won it all in a while.

He has the hardest GM job in baseball, so it's difficult to accurately assess him. On the one hand, the Yankees have mismanaged the roster horribly in the last four years, trading away virtually any and all prospects and signing aging free-agents to bloated contracts... But how much of that is Cashman, and how much is The Boss? I have a feeling that Cashman is a lot better than we give him credit for, but we won't know until he goes to another front office. Or until Steinbrenner dies.

I admire the job he has done, but I feel very sorry for him. He looked like a genius from 1998-2000, but now he has a chip on his shoulder. He's doing all he could to bring the Yankees back to glory. Unfortunately, being a Yankee GM isn't a powerful position because he has to look behind his back at you know who!

He woundn't be pay 2million for each win if he made all the desisions. He get sut out of a lot of discisions by George. Cashmans a genious, plain and simple. The yanks would never have got Giambi, Boone, Contrares, Loften, Wollmack, and Weaver if George wasn't a idiot. And Brian would have brought back Andy, Wells, Stanton (resign 2001), Mendoza, and Tino (resign2001). Brian Cashman is one of the Best GM's in the game. Only on better is Billy Beane.

Considering the resources and pressure to win that he's under, Cashman does a great job. The Yankees get the players they want and they're usually good. They use their vast resources well.

Ummmm, if any of you idiots asked Billy Beane what he thought of Cashman, he would tell you he's a great GM.

His job takes no talent- an unlimited payroll and the stigma that goes along with being a yankee (everyone wants to be one) means that he can get whoever he wants whenever he wants and not have to worry about it. There is not a doubt in my mind that Theo Epstein and Billy Bean are a gazillion times better than Brian Cashman will ever be. Billy Beane continues to discover new talent and put a competing team on the feild every year, regardless of the fact that he has virtually no payroll to do it with. Theo put the Sox into the playoffs in his first year and the offense that he put together smashed tons of records. I expect great things from Theo, it is only a matter of time (i'm thinking months, not years) until the sox are treated to their first world series ring since 1918. P.S. Yankees suck, Nomah is still bettah, and reverse da curse!!!
