I'm not a recreational drug user, so I'm not rating it in regards to a high. I've used it rarely during my cancer treatment for intense bone pain. I use only what I need, and have never had to use it multiple days in a row or taken more than one pill at a time. It does wonders for pain and I haven't experienced any cravings or desire to take it afterwards. It did make me feel a bit lightheaded once, which I don't care for. Probably the biggest problem I've had with it is the constipation. It can really back up your GI system, and when I've had to use it I've often found myself taking a stool softener the next day or two.

This is the best, and worst of medicine all wrapped up in a small pill. At its best it’s a wonder drug that can make life bearable when someone has intense pain. At its worst it can be extremely addicting, if the pain can be effectively managed in a different way it is probably advisable to do so. Be aware there can be some pretty nasty withdrawal symptoms, even if you have only been taking OxyContin for a couple months.

I came across this site by mistake, but i pray to God and i was born and raised till the age of 10 in stab city-limerick, ireland-but then immigrated to arlington , MA 15 minutes from Boston, MA- But i write because oxycontin had taken the lives of over 5 high school friends of mine here. I am now 27 and since hight school, this drug has taken over my city aswell ass boston. Its so scary to me. Its basically heroin in a pill in my mind and the FDA has no controll over it. It kills and ruins sooooooooo many families EVERY MINUTE!!!! God Damm this fn DRUG!!

Whew.... judging based on the belief that this is a synthetic herion, it will truly trip you out! Note that I do not encourage or promote the use of narcotics. Thanks!

This stuff is great for some malignant and non-malignant pain patients. I had a family member on this stuff and it made them mean and constipated beyond belief. Not a drug to mess around with but it works for some.

OxyContin deserves 5 stars because of the wonder drug it truly is. However, the potential for abuse is too high to rate it over a 4. I do think this drug is wonderful for people with chronic pain. It has helped millions of people who couldn't get pain relief in the past. Unfortunately bad press and media has made this drug look alot worse than what it is. It is not the fault of the drug company (Purdue Pharma), the pharmacists, the doctors or the seriously ill patients, or even patients with chronic pain if someone overdoses because they do not follow instructions. Drug addicts, abusers and pushers(criminals) have made this drug seem so horrible and wicked when in all reality it is a wonder drug. I hope the FDA really looks at how many people it has helped before banning it if they do ban it. Also, Purdue Pharma is in the works of making a new OxyContin pill that has anti-tampering stuff in it so if a drug addict, abuser chews it, it will make the drug ineffective. It should be out in the next couple of years hopefully. But overall, I would highly recommend this if you are in serious pain that nothing else could relieve, and of course only your doctor can prescribe it, and the doctor must also think it is good for you. Just be careful, like you would with any narcotic prescription drug, they can be addictive and it can cause breathing problems.
