 | Jar-Jar Binks (16) 04/17/2005 | After Pat Riley and Phil Jackson left the coaching profession for good, Coach Brown is in a class by himself. He's the best coach in the league period. Everywhere he went, he took sorry teams and turned them into championship contenders. That included his brief tour with the LA Clippers.

 | bodizzle (0) 03/02/2005 | Well guys don't know if you've checked the standings lately or not, but we're in the mist of a 10 game winning streak and ready to challenge the Heat for another trip to the Eastern Conference finals. LB has so much experience and knowledge his presence is all that is needed. The Pistons are going to surprise a lot of people just like they did last year. LB should get some of the credit for how well they're playing right now and for the championship run last year.

 | Wavebacker (25) 01/07/2005 | Even though he ran out on my 76ers, I gotta hand it to Brown for being a fine coach. He's a proven winner who's won at several levels - National Championship, NBA Title. He's a consummate coach, he coaches the fundamentals and coaches his way, the old school way, and it's effective. He has jumped around too much in his career, but he's had success everywhere he's been.

 | bluetarbaby (8) 08/07/2004 | Larry is the man . Gold or not, other than Silas or Sloan , he is the only NBA coach who is actually teaching! Brown is a student and master of the game. All the others are just puppets. Again , I don't give a damn if he wins gold or not , he is the master . Only a bitter dookie would disagree.

 | conhusk (0) 04/24/2004 | he started his head coaching in NBA in 1976, he proved to be one of the best head coach in NBA. in his almost retirement era, especially in his last 6th season, he manage to have a winning record (with phila and detroit), it's just unfortunate he never one championship (he won NCAA in 1988).

 | magellan (153) 10/23/2003 | Larry Brown has always considered himself a foundation builder. He takes broken teams and fixes them. He teaches the fundamentals, how to defend, how to rebound, how to be patient on offense.... how to play the "right way." His formula has turned around programs in Los Angeles and Philadelphia. Now, it appears as Larry Brown gets older, and finds himself still without a championship, he has grown impatient with this "foundation building" model, and wants to become more of a roof builder - ie take a team with talent and potential, and take them to a world championship. The Pistons are a team that finished first in the East in 2002, and already display a lot of the characteristics that Brown likes - defense, rebounding, and toughness. With untapped talent like Okur, Prince, and Darko, my guess is that this team will win the East again. Whether the Pistons can compete with the big 5 (LA, Sac, Dallas, SA, Min) remains to be seen.
