Overall Rating:3.45 based on 22 ratings
Amazon.com essential recording AC/DC's second U.S. release took the raw energy from their debut, High Voltage, up a notch, producing another huge collection of driving, intense songs for serious headbanging, but adding a bit more professionalism into the equation. The songwriting and production are tighter and more focused, and standouts such as "Whole Lotta Rosie," "Problem Child," "Let There Be Rock," and "Bad Boy Boogie" almost have to fight with "filler" like "Go Down" and "Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be" for the spotlight; but really, there's not a wasted track here. Guitarists Angus and Malcom Young further define their grooves, and vocalist Bon Scott sounds like he's on the verge of combusting. Let There Be Rock is big and lean. --Lorry Fleming --This text refers to the Audio CD edition. (Add picture)

A cracker from start to finish. Deserves 5 stars for Rosie alone. In fact all the Bon Scott era albums are 5 stars. What rock n roll should be about. Dirty, unpretentious rowdy fun.

I like AC/DC but I can't love them. Their stuff seems to run together and most of it sounds the same. This is a good but quite average release for them.

Awesome hard rock album. Introduced the one-of-a-kind voice of the late Bon Scott and the show-stopping guitar antics of Angus Young to a new American audience in 1977. Whole Lotta Rosie alone, is worth the price of the album. Get it, turn up your stereo loud, and let the fireworks begin!
