Van Gundy did a great job the past two seasons witht he heat. Actually out coached Larry Brown in the Pistons series but his horses pulled up lame in the playoffs. Like Nate McMillan it is stioo to early in his career to give a rating any higher. Coaches have to prove themselves over time with changing talent and situations.

He's really made the Heat believe in themselves. After last year's 0-7 start, they made the playoffs. With his leadership, they're a sure contender and should make the NBA Finals this year.

best Coach out their right now. Might even be better than my man Phil Jackson.

Stan is in a tough situation. Most of his talented players are injured, the head coach bailed just four days before the start of the season, and you just know that Lamar Odom is dying to smoke a J to dull the pain of his injured ankle. The team's best player looks to be a rookie, Dwyane Wade, and Eddie Jones looks like he's about to break down. That being said, if the heat can ever get Odom, Caron, Dwyane, and EJ on the floor they could be fun to watch - until then, it's premature to judge Stan Van Gundy.

Wow!! It might be too early to judge Stan Van Gundy, but his first performance as Heat coach was bad. Poorly placed time-outs? Massive injuries? Maybe the augries for his leadership are going to be pretty bad. His only experience as head coach was one season with the University of Wisconsin and he's not remembered there as a winning coach. He seemed like a frustrated little man in last nights game.
