 | lmorovan (15) 04/15/2008 | Despite certain reservation regarding some theological issues, I appreciate Adrian Rogers as a genuine man of God who preached the Gospel from and with his heart. And never heard him compromising, which is a BIG plus.

 | sinnersavedbygrace (1) 04/14/2008 | I thought he was very good but still a denominational teacher. I did listen to him last night on television. He actually said something you normally don't hear from a baptist. He was talking about the mystery that Paul talks about in his epistles and how no one else knew of this mystery. It was hid in God until he chose Paul to preach it. No where in the bible other than in Paul's epistles does it reveal that God would go to the gentiles. That was just a thrilling moment. Every one mixes up the word of God. Jesus went to the Jew first. They had to realize who he was and be baptized for remission of their sins but that never happened. When they rejected His message, He did something that was kept in his mind but never revealed. He has now taking his message, through Paul to the gentiles. When you separate prophesy from the mystery in the bible, it finally makes sense. Rest in peace Adrian!

 | denves07 (1) 12/30/2007 | Pastor Rodgers died a couple of years ago. I met him once. He was truly a great man of God who faithfully preached the Word of God. I grew more under his preaching (on TV and radio) than most any other minister. He also helped steer the Southern Baptist Convention back to their conservative/fundamentalist roots (i.e., believing in the complete Word of God). Many of the SBC seminaries had started tilting liberal in their teachings, but through Dr. Rodgers' efforts (and others after him) the SBC was saved from dying as many of the mainstream denominations have done. Truly a great man...

 | Doulos (2) 03/29/2007 | Adrian Rogers was a great preacher. He stood for morality and never backed down from Biblical convictions. I still enjoy listening to him on Oneplace.com & watching him on TV. His teaching ministry is going to continue to hang around and bless others, I believe.
5 stars, Mr. Adrian. Well done!

University in Lynchburg, Virginia in 2003.
Adrian Rogers (1931-2005)

Adrian Rogers is home. Yesterday, he went to sleep in Memphis. And then
he woke up in Heaven. Adrian, who retired as the pastor of the 27,000
member Belview Baptist Church in Memphis, died of complications from
the cancer treatments he has endured for the past several months.
But,
while the Christian community has suffered the loss of a great
statesman and ambassador of truth, he would not have us weep too
bitterly. He often quipped, When my time comes, dont be sorry for me;
Ill be kicking up gold dust on the streets of glory.
Indeed,
shortly after being admitted to the hospital with pneumonia, Adrian
asserted, this is a win-win for me. By that he simply meant that,
whether God chose to heal him or not, he was in the hands of God's good
providence. Thus, among the last words that this remarkably gifted
pastor, author, and media personality uttered were, I am at perfect
peace.

 | MirageRC (1) 02/08/2007 | No complaints here. He preaches the word of God with power and conviction. I really like how he challenges the listener with his biblical messages. He's highly recommended. Now that he's gone to be with the Lord, we won't get anything new, but the messages that he left us with were Spirit-led indeed.

 | luzi (0) 11/28/2006 | Well I said I love two radio/TV evangelists and one was Charles Stanley. The other is Adrian Rogers. What an insightful, spiritual man. I love listening to his sermons.
I just read below that he died? I wasn't aware of that. With a heavy heart, I'm off to search the web for information on that.

 | illusionbuster (7) 09/02/2006 | Better than most TV preachers I've seen , Adrian Rodgers is not afraid to speak up about many areas in the Bible that confront sin and evil in our cuture and goverment . Adrian also seemed eager to preach salvation and keep that central in his ministry.
I think there are some areas where Adrian was wanting could be critized but at least Adrian always seemed to really care about the interest of Jesus.

 | Su-Su (0) 04/05/2006 | Adrian Rodgers was a prolific teacher. His messages are balanced, accurate and can be checked against the inerrant Word of God. Unlike many of the so-called Word of Faith teachers of today, Dr. Rodgers brought the unadulterated Word of God and not his own opinions or twisted logic. His great love for the Lord Jesus Christ come across in his messages, as well as his sincerity. There was nothing phony about him. I was deeply touched by the fact that Dr. Rodgers left a good bye letter to his listeners and supporters to be released upon his death. This letter encouraged the saints of God to stand firm and carry on the work of the ministry. It was a reflection of the Apostle Paul's letter to Timothy and carried the same type of sentiment ("For I am ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand..." II Tim 4:6-8). I really admire Dr. Rodgers' dedication and devotion to the Lord. To have had the presence of mind and great love for God and his people that he'd leave a farewell letter as he was making his departure into eternity is a remarkable testament to this man's character. And those of us who've passed his way, know that indeed there was a prophet in Zion, and we continue to be blessed by his ministry. Please go to Adrian Rodgers' website (www.lwf.org) to read his heartwarming goodbye letter. I will truly miss Dr. Rodgers.

 | AsuzaSt (7) 03/31/2006 | He was good when he was alive. Is it normal to keep people on these lists who have passed away? If it is, we should put some of the old-time preachers on - like Aimee Semple McPherson.
