I'll leave my five star rating intact for now, as when he is completely healthy, he easily deserves it. The problem is that he plays so recklessly that he gets hurt often. Even though he's still quite young, it wouldn't surprise me if the injuries started affecting his abilities sooner rather than later.

I love the Marquette boy, and thought he was absoulutly amazing when he led the Heat to the Finals, but he hasn't been the same since and has dropped a level. I'll give him a 4 and 1/4.

Dwyane Wade is in and he's one of the best players in the league. For those people who bash him.. screw you.. i mean you're not even known.. lucky for flash he made himself known and he worked for it.Like what he said "there is no other Michael Jordan" but there are great players in the league right now including him

without the referees, this joke of a superstar which the nba shamelessly shoves down our throats as the next jordan minus the charisma, would just be a borderline all star. the comish, david stern loves this guy coz he is the anti-kobe, the anti-iverson, a young player with clean image just like lebron. thus the nba blatantly promotes these two stars as the faces of the league. they both get a lot of questionable calls in their favor. obvious ref bias if you just watch the game. even coaches, players and some unbiased sportswriters have attested to that. these guys palm, travel with the ball in almost every occasion but the refs swallow their whistle. and don't forget the "you-touch-him, that's a foul" crap. you can't defend these guys properly without getting a whistle. now track back to the pre-Wade/Lebron era and you'll see how tough the defense was. but these guys get all the call their way coz they've been chosen to be the faces of the nba- what a freaking joke! they even throw their bodies to an opposing player initiating contact and 99% of the time, the player guarding them gets called for a blocking foul.

now remember the two international competitions in which both lebron and wade represented the usa team? what happened? did we win? usa teams represented by nba players before just easily annihilated international competition, whatever country they were playing. but the "supposed" gods of the nba today, who some claim so close to jordan's greatness, couldn't even win second place for crying it loud! the 2 gods combining their skills and effort couldn't handle unknown team. the unstoppable of the nba, couldn't just get it going in international competition. why? because of the unbiased officiating! they couldn't get away with their travelling, palming violations and "don't touch me, or you'll get a foul" treatment that they get on the nba because of the blatant game fixing. thus they were exposed that they're good, but not even close to great. even the "before" underrated player carmelo anthony outplayed them because he could shoot from outside unlike these one dimensional "fake" superstars. what a joke the nba has become!

D Wade is an amazing player. He is a great shooter and knows how to drive the lane. He has a lot of hops and can trow it down with style. He is also a great free throw shooter. It's hard to stop a guy that fast who can drive, shoot, and just score.

I'm not too crazy about the Heat, but Wade is just awesome. He's continuing to improve his game, which is already at a dynamic level. And who can deny that his high-flying dunks are mind-boggling? He's not getting a perfect score from me yet, but I might have to change my rating come next season. We'll see...

He good but I took off two stars for his acting mayne. I'm sick of Wade acting like he hurt, stop falling down Wade you aint hurt trying to act all overdramtic so the referees will give you a freethrow. He's good though

Plays the game the right way. . .plays hard, plays hurt. . .can score, play defense, rebound, and would probably sell tickets if you ask him to. . .now that he has a ring, all the has to do is keep up his high level of play for him to be considered one of the all-time greats- after a few years, he'll be an easy 5-star choice, but 4-stars because it is very, very early in his career. . .

With the 2006 NBA Finals done, D. Wade has shot up to superstar status in the NBA. The NBA Finals MVP averaged 34.7 points, 5 assists, and 7 rebounds in the series against the Mavs. He now holds the NBA record for most postseason points scored over the first three years in the league (Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, Kareem Abdul Jabar behind him). He was a great player at Marquette, but I didn't expect him to play like this. In only his 3rd season, Wade seems like he has every facet of the NBA game down. He can slash to the basket with ease, he can hit the jump shot, he can rebound, and he has great vision to dish out the assists. He's also a regular on the Sportscenter highlight reel. He has the most similarities to Michael Jordan right now, and he still has a long career ahead of him. The man also has a great, humble personality. His favorite book is "Pride and Prejudice"! D. Wade has Hall of Fame written all over him.

One of the best NBA players at a very young age. If he doesn't get injured I see a lot of broken records in his future.

I mean the guy just cannot be stopped. He always brings his A game to his court. I wouldn't want to be the defender when Wade has the ball. He will murn me and drive for the easy 2.

Easily the best player on the Miami Heat. Should have a great career ahead of him. If he and Alonzo Mourning could get up early every morning and chase Shaq around the track for a few miles, then take him inside and make him practice his free throws, they might end up winning the big one.

Dwyane Wade is great. He is a team player that sets up many plays. A little under sized, but once you seem him shot and play against powerhouse teams he shuts up critics. Wade is amazing. And brings out the best. He is not a head case, but he has skills!

I think D. Wade is an amazing player. I have the league pass, so I watch every Miami game. There is not a time when watching him, that I'm not in awe of his skills. He handles the ball, like no other. He's gonna take it to you and give it to you. Anyone who's doubting his skills, is not watching this man play. I wish that everyone would stop with the comparisions. Lebron is Lebron, M.J. is the greatest, and Dwayne is the man. I predict that we will be the champions this year, and now that we got Riley back, maybe next year and the year after.

Dwyane Wade proved this year during the playoffs that he is one of the next generation of great NBA players. He should continue to improve and as the Heat build around him, he should have more opportunities to get to the Finals.

Flash(Dwanye Wade) is the best player in the nba now with Shaquille O'neil on his team.He is one of the most explosive players going to the rim and not a lot can stop him. We should watch out for him in the future. JAKE

Well, he's now just about unguardable. If he can drop 40 on Tayshaun, he can drop 40 on anybody, and at any time. Not sure if there's a better player in the league. ****Anybody see him elevate and dunk over Jermaine O'Neal last night? Holy smokes... when he gets a little better handle and a little more consistent on the J, he will be unguardable.

Dwayne Wade and Shaq together reminds me of kobe and shaq!Dwayne is really developing and there is no doubt in my mind that in a couple of years, Dwayne will be a seasoned all-star veteren!!He already might be!!!He has a quick crossover and has already develped a great jumpshot! The only thing i'd say that Wade should work on is free-throws!So far he done a good job of GETTING to the line in the playoffs, but isn't hitting efficiently. He was like 9/17 at the line against the wizards in one playoff game this year where they almost blew the game. But like i said hes devloping and will be great off with shaq.

Soon to be the best PG in the league, him and Lebron are really bringing the NBA back with help from other young players like Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudamire, and some good Veterans Like AI and Steve Nash.

Hey everyone as much as I hate the Miami Heat, I do think Wade is a great player and he is going to be an all-star for years to come. I really don't no if he is better then Carmelo Anthony, but I think he can be. It just really depends on the games. But again I'm sorry but I HATE the Miami Heat! oh ya and Wade is HOT!!!

What a year he's having, helps that now he plays with Shaq. But this guy is a hell of a player and will be an all-star for years to come. And right now he is a better player than Carmelo Anthony.

Already has made a name for himself. The playoffs this year was incredible. I find it unbelievble that vangundy took him out of the game the last seconds of the game when NOONE else was making shots. He was looking like Kobe when he got 42 against the Spurs. If he can get a big post man to take some pressure off him, it would make for a devastating combo with wade and odom. 2-3 years and the heat could be top contendors in the east.

Everyone here, is right on the money, with the exception of that pathetic hater, his airness. This kid is not only the true Rookie of the year, but the MVP of his team, as well.I'm sure Melo, and Lebron would agree, as they watched him posterize Jermaine Oneal on their plasma TV's, (in their bathrobes)!

Sucks,...,Badly. He's a ball hog who is only looked upon as one of the great young players because the rest of his team sucks 100X worse!

He's good for a rookie in the NBA, but he's not the best and i don't think he ever will be. Don't get me wrong, boy knows how to score but i don't think that he's the best especially compared to Melo or James. Personally, i prefer Melo.

Dwayne Wade should be given serious consideration for the Rookie of the Year award. He doesn't get the numbers that LeBron and Carmelo do, but he doesn't get the playing time that they do either. Wade is more solid all around, he is good offensively and better defensively, which is what a lot of coaches look for more often than not. He also has a family, a child. If he gets the award it'll mean more money for his family, I don't know about you, but I like it when kids are well off. Dwayne Wade is also more of a man than the other two. Unlike LeBron he went to college, and unlike Carmelo he stayed in because he wanted to help his team, Marquette, and not be selfish. Dwayne Wade is one of the best players in the NBA already and will be for many years to come. He has already drawn comparisons to Jordan, because of his stellar performance in the Elite Eight two years ago against Kentucky, when he earned a triple double, one of few in NCAA tournament history. Wade should win MVP, but because he is a rookie, Rookie of the Year is deserving enough.
