I truly believe he preaches the word of God. And, he doesn't beg for money or preach the "prosperity gospel." His ministry thrives, I think, because of God's blessings on his work.

A man who simply preaches the Bible AS IT EXISTS, not per his agenda. I agree, he is "utterly consistent and truthful," just like the Bible. Individual agendas mean nothing when talking about God. Only accurate conveying of what He has said matters. And that "ain't" hard to find. One simply reads it and accepts or rejects based on its claims, not us or any Pastor. We have but one source as to who God is, which makes all other opinions irrelevant unless they convey what God has ALREADY said and commanded.

Apparently a lot of you people do not listen to the message and what he preaches from the Bible. You are all too busy having your own opinions, and I, I, I. A sin is a sin. He does not say gay people are not saved, you are committing a sin and should turn and change, just like me I do things all the time and I need to change and be more Christ like. I have down things I am not proud of and changed my ways , turned toward the cross, and asked for forgiveness. Jesus loves everyone, Charles Standley preaches this, BUT we have to turn from our wicked ways. We must accept Christ as our Savior and believe HE is the Son of God and died for us on the cross. Mr. Standley is a man just like anyone else and he is the first one to say he is a sinner. He preaches the truth from the Bible, can you imagine how hard it is to do what he does and what he has gone thru. It is not easy doing what he does. I simply love listening to him because he makes me think and hits on subjects that make me realize the truths about myself. I do not believe he is money hungry, creedy, or all those other negative things you said about him. Just listen, and pray about what he says and does and read and research about him, learn more about a person that just what you think or see. How many of you read and study the Bible, There is always doctrine and some ideas we are not going to agree on. But one thing that believers in Christ should all be united on is Jesus himself and what he did for us on the cross and He is the Son of God and died on that terrible terrible cross. It would be interesting to know why some of you speak the way you do. We should all pray and ask Jesus to unify all of us believers against what satan wants to destroy. Satan will use the bible and ministers to turn us away from the Lord's word and have us all fighting, can you imagine how this makes Christ feel. Jesus wept. This is from the Bible as Jesus looked over Jerusalem and he knew what would happen. HE is still weeping, brothers and sisters. We should all pray for one another and not tear each other down as believers - that is in the Bible.to

He uses God to make a lot of money, look it up, which means he pimps him. What would Jesus think about using his name to spew political opinions? I would surely be afraid if I did it.

Interesting thing about all you so-called spirit filled Christians regarding Dr. Stanley's message about eternal salvation. It's easy for you who believe you can 'lose' your salvation to answer how one receives salvation (Johm 3:16), but none of you dingbats can tell anyone at what measure do you lose your salvation. How many sins does one have to commit to 'lose' their salvation? What kind of sins must be committed before salvation is lost? No one can ever answer that! Dr. Stanley has obeyed God (which includes confessing sin) throughout his life and has fruit to show for it! I dare say that LetMeRateIt never had salvation to begin with.

This is what Dr. Stanley believes and teaches (so I understand). If a sinner (one who practices sin and does not know Christ. This is everyone before we come to accept Jessus fully!) If this sinner repents of their sin, confesses and believes in Jesus as Lord (Romans 10:9) then they're eternally saved from seperation from God. Now, listen carefully. If the belief and confession is real they are saved. Period! If it is not real, or not from one's heart fully, then it's not true believing and one is not saved. Right? You see, Jehovah has given us all this free gift. All we have to do is accept it. If it wasn't freely given, then why did Christ have to die on the cross in our place? If a person truly repents and turns their life to Christ, then it is a real conversion. Bottom line, the Lord gives us this free gift freely to those that confess their full heart belief in Him. Read the following scriptures and let the Word of God bring you into all truth. Romans 10:9, "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Ephesians 1:13, "In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation, having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise. I John 5:13, "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life." Ephesians 4:30, "Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption."

I think he does a very good job presenting the gospel of Christ. I only wish he wouldn't exclude homosexuals from that saving grace. But, over the years, I've learned to deal with that aspect of his ministry. As Billy Graham recently said, "True Christians can disagree on theological issues." I know I'm saved even if I am gay.

You can't go wrong with Charles Stanley.

He is a mild mannered man who clearly love the Lord and has preached faithfully for many years.

He doesn't often get into the meatier doctrinal issues, but what he does preach on he generally does a very good job with.

There are a few beliefs that he holds that I do not believe are Biblical, but as they are 'orthodox' views, I do not necessarily hold that against him.

If I bump into him on the TV, I will often stick around and listen.

Although I don't agree with everything Charles Stanley teaches, I do agree with what he teaches that it is all by grace. That is, that we are saved the moment we believe the good news that Jesus Christ has saved us simply by what he has done for us--dying for us on the cross.

Charles Stanley is truly a stand-up guy.He is one of the few preachers that you can count on to measure out a healthy portion of truth. The "truth" is difficult to hear sometimes. What he won't do is "feed you a watered down gospel".He brings refreshing insight to a world that is so occupied with "things" that they overlook the important attributes that we should all strive to have.We as a nation would be hard-pressed to find a president with integrity, character, compassion and common sense and wisdom, let alone a regular Joe or Jane.We idolize sports, new cars, fancy houses, shopping for the sake of shopping so we can feel better about ourselves,we can't get enough sex,Then there is pornography, sports figures that are on steroids, movie stars and recording artists on drugs, and some of us drink or hit the meth pipe hoping that it will fill up the empty feeling we sense inside of us. Deep down we know that all those things help for a short amount of time. And then we are back to square one again. And don't think we have escaped unnoticed by our nation's children. We leave all these behaviors as a very bad example to the treasured youth of today who will proliferate the same behaviors that we modeled to them.We are cyclical by nature. We have to know that there is one underlying element that explains it all.We are not contented with what we have beit our lifestyle or otherwise.Wanting more causes more discontentment.Understanding what it takes to insure a contented life is only the beginning of wisdom.I don't have all the answers, and I haven't arrived yet,but humility is a good start.Try to understand and love someone you don't know.Cheer someone up that needs to be cheered up.You can be"your brothers keeper".

it was his wife who filed for the divorce , thus I think he ment that if he was the one to file then he would resign from the church. he cannot control what his wife does . and she wanted the divorce. yes marriage vows are a very big deal and not to be broken but I do believe there are some exceptions where God will allow divorce God hates adultry also and abuse, would God want us to stay married to possibly get Aids or STD's from a cheating spouse? I think not!.

This is a news article I found. I'm pasting it because of it's information. He's kind of boring for me so I don't watch him very much. ATLANTA Charles Stanley and his wife, Anna, have divorced. According to an official of First Baptist Church, Atlanta, Stanley will remain as senior pastor.Stanley, 67, told the congregation in a service May 21. Following his report, Gerald Spicer, church administrator, told the congregation Stanley would remain as senior pastor. The congregation rose in applause.According to the May 23 edition of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Anna Stanley filed a petition as "A.J. Stanley" requesting a divorce from "C.F. Stanley" on Feb. 16 charging their marriage of 44 years was "irretrievably broken." An Atlanta judge signed the final decree May 11 following the execution of a property agreement by the Stanleys April 5.The Stanley's troubled marriage was made public in the 1990s and caused some struggles in the church because of an unwritten policy that First Baptist not allow divorced men to serve as ministers or deacons.Stanley told the congregation in 1995, "If my wife divorces me, I would resign immediately.""We hate it that things like this happen, but our church is moving right along," said the vice chairman of the church's deacons, Jerry Beal, according to the Atlanta newspaper. "He is our pastor, and he will remain our pastor."Pastor of the Atlanta church since 1972, Stanley is a former president of the Southern Baptist Convention and his In Touch television ministry is seen and heard around the world.

Charles Stanley teaches what some call "Sloppy Agape," which isn't "agape" at all. Rather, it's spiritual poison. To suggest that just because one "believed" in Jesus once upon a time that that person is "saved" forever...even if they no longer believe in Christ is 1.) a grevious error and 2.) a demonstration that Mr. Stanley doesn't have an adequate understanding of how God saves His people.

He also has been divorced from his wife. That means he has failed to live up to the standards of a minister according to Paul's letters to Timothy. Why is it that these men think the rules don't apply to them? Hypocrites.

It's terrible that so many people watch his TV broadcast and think he's this great teacher. Although, I do understand why they would. "Have Christ & the world. It doesn't matter. He loves you anyway!" This type of preaching is just what Jude condemned in his letter. Read it, please. And stay away from this guy.

One star, Charles. Shame on you!

In comparison to all the other TVevangleist, Charles Stanley rates far and above the rest (most are into the deceitful prosperity doctrine). His ministry is based upon sound Scripture. Honesty and integrity is readily seen in his expressions and mannerisms. He does not come as overbearingm judgmental, nor does he seem pompous and holier-than-thou-art. The Holy Spirit has moved with grace and peace in his ministry, and the fruits thereof are evident.

Very sound theology IMO, and he doesn't have to scream to get his message across. He's also not into the properity, God-is-a-vending machine, bless-me-bless-me mistheology. I'm disappointed with his divorce, however. The marriage vows are sacred; you simply don't mess with those, no matter who you are. There are Biblical bases for divorce, but I suspect IMO that his divorce didn't relate to these.

Didnt Stanley swear up and down he'd leave his pulpit if he got a divorce? He said he felt a divorced person shouldn't be a pastor. He got his divorce, but then he didn't leave the pulpit. So much for his honesty and integrity. He can't even live up to his own standards.

As I've grown more in faith and listened to more styles of preaching, Charles has grown on me. He is warm and compassionate and big on the mercy and love of God. Unlike some holier then thou pasters, I don't dread listening to his sermons but actually look forward to hearing from him. His gentle touch (as Paul commanded preachers to be) on subjects makes you taste the goodness of the Word and makes you want more of the truth. He is balanced. He is certainly no fluffy preach what everyone wants to hear type yet he is gentle. I admire his ability to be able to go into great detail and tell you the truth, even hard truths without making you feel like you are going to hell. He is evidence of first John, that if you love God, you will love others. Maybe I might not agree with him 100% of the time, but hey, I don't agree with any preacher 100% of the time.

harles Stanley

I'm surprizes for such high ratings for this man.

just tuned in Sat nite to hear Pastor Stanley preach that
God sends suffering on to us to get our attention,
or to teach us a lesson.

IE: God sends cancer on someone to teach them a lesson???

Sorry, but I dont buy it.

God tells us in old testament--

"I have set befor you Life and death,
blessing and cursing,
therefor, choose life"
Deut 30:19

He gives us a choice, and does not threaten us with suffering,
if we choose wrong.

Sure we may get sick or suffer bad experiences,

but thats the result of living in a sinful world,
and a free world.

Thank you Lord,

I'll choose life and Blessing,

health and happiness,
so that me and my seed may live and love the Lord.

Jesus tells us:

"I come that You may have life,

and have it more abundantly"
John 10:10

Thats a promise I'll stand on.

funny thing about words and faith,

if you say it and believe it, it will happen.

I dont doubt it happens to those that believe it,

just be careful what/who you believe.

and dont get caught up on the thinking that

God's gonna get ya for that.

Stand on some of Gods words--

"There shall no evil befall thee,
neither shall any plague come
nigh thy dwelling

He shall call upon me and I will answer him:
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him,and honour him."

Thee and thy is me.
Him is me.
