Amazon.com's review of "Out of the Cellar": Along with Motley Crue, Quiet Riot and Twisted Sister, Ratt was one of the main players of the '80s glam metal movement. Although many of their songs lacked diversity and emotional poignancy, their guitarist Warren De Martini possessed the flash and technical ability to escalate the group above most of its peers. Out of the Cellar is by far the band's best record, but between the blazing solos and call-and-response choruses are many lackluster moments. What saves it from the bargain bin, however, is the quintessential metal anthem "Round and Round," one of the greatest three-or-so minutes in '80s rock. --Jon Wiederhorn (Add picture)

I love the first four or five Ratt albums, this album contains some great songs. I thinK Scene of the Crime is my favorite song.

...and into the bin.! Ratt of course are one of the many laughably inept and unoriginal products of the extremely p*sspoor girly-hair metal scene, populated by even more useless no-talents such as Cinderella, Poison and LA Guns. As noted above 'Round and round' is their best known track, not to be confused with weakest track off Aerosmith's Toys in the Attic, although this is still considerably better. The only good thing about the thrash metal scene was that it (rather than grunge) that kiiled off hair metal. And amen to that.

Their lyrics were, at times, quite uninspiring, but overall, their music was an adrenaline rush.

Every band has a defining album. Out Of The Cellar is that album for Ratt. Best Ratt album of all time.

Ratt's lyrics are so damn laughable! Not a very inspiring or original band. I liked them when I was 6.
