One of the greats.  A true talent.  Also saw him live in concert and I must say one of the best concerts ever.  Will truely be missed.  Rest in peace Luther.  Jmitchell you are one sick soul.  Sounds like you'll be in hell soon..

It is a shame that only now are people starting to realize and appreciate Luther Vandross's talent, as well as his place as a major contributor for today's R&B/Contemporary movement. Vandross was, himself, influenced by legends such as Sam Cooke and Otis Redding. Silky-voiced, with a range like few have, Vandross was a master artisan in his musical genre- belting out hits such as Dance With My Father', 'The Power of Love', and the remakes 'Always and Forever' and 'Endless Love'. But perhaps his greatest hit was the ultimate wedding song, 'Here and Now'. Vandross was a legend, and will be sorely missed by true R&B fans.

Giving credit where it's due. Luther is a fighter. Also good artist. I like Love The One You're With (cool version) and Power Of Love (takes me back to the 90's). My mom's crazy over him.
