When I booked with El Al I was an Israel supporter...by the time I arrived at my destination I had TOTALLY reversed my opinion. I shall NEVER fly El Al again. This airline does nothing but harm to Israel.

Are their security staff Israeli Army squaddies with a grudge against humanity? Being polite to them doesn't help any. Perhaps they don't realise the harm they do...but they gave the impression of enjoying causing maximum aggravation.

But they might be a good option for masochists...if you enjoy interrogation and luggage searches at check-in! Otherwise, take my advice and find another airline.

I just got home from flying with El Al and I have never felt so safe on an airplane. Yes, prior to checking my luggage in JFK, I was pretty much interegated and asked a lot of questions about being Jewish and about my luggage, which was scary and annoying. At the same time, it's all for security and if it means the flight is safer, I'm all for it. Also, I was going on the Birthright trip, so that could be why I was questioned so much - not sure if everyone flying El Al is questioned about Judaism. Anyone can fly to Israel, not just Jewish people, so I'm not quite sure why "what do you do on Passover" was relevant to flying on El Al. Either way, the flight was long, but very smooth. Also, they fed us like 100 times throughout the flight and seem to have their service down to a science.

I really don't love flying and get very anxious, but El Al really wasn't bad at all - and I absolutely loved loved loved my trip to Israel, so i can't wait to fly back!

i got interegated at the Tel Aviv airport for like 2 hours prior to dropping off my luggage, and i'm half Jewish...

a joke of an airline, stay away.

ok this carrier is good if your Jewish...if not stay away! they will hassle you and treat you like a terrorist the moment you step into the plane, make that the airport,even if your blonde and blue eyed!
