The best gate boy and a ferocious competitor down the lane. No Arcaro, but every bit of Willie. Lafitte rode junk for years before making the scene. Countless track crashes and comebacks. Tough guy. Could have been a boxer.

The absolute best of all time. He always gave you everything. At most tracks the owners of the first 5 horses get purse money. I have seen the Pirate give it all to get a fifth. If were playing the super fecta he never gave up and would ride hard to get a 4th.
