While I can often locate more difficult to find songs on KaZaA, there seems to be fewer higher quality versions (ie 320 bitrate) than on other P2P networks (eg WinMX). Moreover, when I try to designate specified shared folders, KaZaA Lite (the only version that I have ever used) still seems to flag them all as shared. The software itself has a nice feel, looks good, and is intuitive. Also, downloads are relatively fast due primarily to multiple sources. As other comments have noted, KaZaA does have a slight memory leak which will slow a computer down after time (requiring a reboot).

I used the older versions of Kazaa lite and they were brilliant but version 2.4.3 was a nightmare. I installed it on a machine that had a fresh OS install and was virus and ad/spyware checked and clean. I installed Kazaa lite 2.4.3 then just out of curiosity had a look in task managers process list. There was something new there, it was called spurio.exe and it was using 40% of the cpu bandwidth. I left it on and went straight to the net to see if I could find anything about spurio.exe but could find nothing. Ahhhh yes I did find something while I was on the net....93% processor munching....thats what I found. Spurio.exe was in c/docs & settings/all users/start/progs. Just a tiny 120 kb programme that was deleted with just a few clicks of the mouse. Just thought I should warn you.
