07/16/2007 | Perhaps the most recognizable track with the pergolas on the roof, this is home to the most famous race in North America, the Kentucky Derby.
I was here once on Derby day and had a memorable time.
If you get the opportunity to be here on Derby day, make sure you visit both the grandstand and the infield. The change in the kind of fans from one to the other makes it like visits to two different planets.

06/17/2005 | When living in Kentucky, I visited Churchill Downs on Derby Day several times and was awed by the spectacular beauty of the place. A great track.

01/25/2005 | A great track getting a much needed face-lift. It isn't the greatest though except on that first Saturday in May. I have no idea who said this but this quote says it all. If you haven't been to Churchill Downs on the First Saturday in May... You ain't been no where and you ain't seen nothing.
