I truly believe, one hundred and ten percent, in Methadone treatment by a private physician and/or Methadone clinics. These programs are keeping people from overdosing, spreading HIV/AIDS, spiralling into a financial abyss or destroying their family. I am really stunned at the seemingly intelligent people who voice opposition to the Methadone program. It is such an important option to the poor individual suffering. I praise all law makers who have worked to make the Methadone program available. I praise all doctors who prescribe and all staff who work in the Methadone clinics. As soon as we overcome the hurdle that allows the people who need it the most demographically (lower class rural america) to enter and receive Methadone treatment, regardless of their ability to pay or ability to travel long distances daily, then it will truly be one of the utmost respected drug rehabilitation programs of our lifetime.
