 | President -X-D (6) 08/22/2003 | I'm not a WWII buff, but when I decided to read these books on a whim, I was BLOWN AWAY. Winston Churchill was a brilliant man, more brilliant than I ever would have thought. If he had decided to be an author instead of the leader of the English-speaking world, he would have been a soaring success. These six books are the definitive perspective on WWII from England's viewpoint. I feel like I know Churchill after reading his works, and I truly believe that it was his resolve and courage that saved Europe from dictatorship.

Churchill throws in some great personal observations and anecdotes from his own unique experience. His descriptions of his meetings with Stalin are especially entertaining. It's also interesting to read this with an eye for the way Churchill explains/spins events that were heavily influenced by intelligence that was still classified when he wrote the book (e.g., the Ultra intercepts).
