When I'm feeling particularly sorry for myself I wish I was 4 again. Old enough to have a little independence, no one's wiping your ass for you, and the most important thought on your mind is cookies.

I am lucky for having a mostly good childhood.I was raised by kind and loving people, and although I saw some hard times, what I remember the most is lot's of Freedom and fun. It's sad to me that kids have to grow up so friggin fast nowdays. What's great about kids is how unbiased they can be when exposed to something new to them.

Mine was overseas in England for the most part. We traveled a lot to European cities on vacation and got a great education. I was blessed then actually. My teen years would be a little harder on me.

Definitely my favorite time of life, nothing to worry about except not pissing off your parents. Now, it's bills and if your kids piss you off or not.

I enjoyed my childhood for the most part. It was sweet, times were much simpler, homework wasn't as much back then as they do now, etc.

I hated every year. Couldn't drive, couldn't fly, couldn't drink, couldn't smoke, no sex, couldn't go anywhere without everyone's permission, school sucked. . .I ran to college and into my 20's with gusto. . .

Agree with Irish on this one. How can anything be all that bad when your worst day can be made good by a cookie.. and the best joke in the world is the dog peeing on your brother's head when he's sleeping?

Childhood... A timeless age in which life was sweet, free from superficiality, materialism, bullying, harm and pain... A wonderful time that is now just a memory...

I remember childhood as being pretty sweet. But. I look at it now, and have dedcided the only things that make it good are lack of responsbility and the outlooks children have. Lack of responsiblity. Obvious. But having no control over your life, and always having people telling you what to do. Bedtime. What to eat. When to eat. What to do today. What to wear. Not so nice. I think if adults had the lives of children, they'd be pretty miserable.

This is the only period on the list I can say to have finished. Annoyingly, I tended to spend these years desperately attempting to emulate adults, wishing to appear grown up, wanting to be free from the machinations of my parents whilst not appreciating my lack of obligations. With adulthood comes freedom, but also great responsibility and the fact that such simple joys as running around pretending to be an aeroplane are no longer socially acceptable. This is why now that my childhood is finished I look back on those years as the most free time of my life.

I didn't really like childhood. For me, I felt like I had no control or responsibility over my own life. You can't go out whenever you want at any time of the day. Personally, I like the liberating effects of adulthood. But being a little kid has its upsides too, like not having to worry about much. You don't have to maintain yourself, your parents could do that for you!!

My God, I wish I were seven again! Sometimes I get so nostalgic I cry! Childhood was wonderful- homework was simple, I had no enemies and I could play all weekend. The drawback is that by the time we're old enough to realize how good we had it, it's too late.

There are days when I long for the beautiful simplicity of childhood again; maybe it's the innocence, the carefree feelings. Remember just sitting around on Saturday mornings watching cartoons? Remember playing out in your front yard? Remember when homework involved blunt scissors and that weird white paste? Remember all the little kiddie rides that you could get on at the amusement park? At least, that's how it was for me, at least the good parts. I'm only 22, almost 23, but still, it seems like it was forever ago.

Ah, the good ol' carefree days of childhood. I can actually go back a few years and remember these days very clearly- I am only 15 years old. I am enjoying the experience of growing up. However, I must admit I sometimes miss the days when I didn't have a care in the world... no homework, no tests to study for.... I could just play all day. Youth comes but once in a lifetime- Longfellow.
