 | Djahuti (54) 11/23/2005 | I think most people spend their 20s trying to "find themselves".I was engaged in my early 20s (luckily did not marry then-whew!)and jumped around an astounding number of jobs from bartender/bouncer to D.J. to working on a maximum security psych ward, and everything in between! I was into pumping iron and was huge and healthy.I used to go out then several times a week- I lived in an urban area and was close to the New York City scene. However, looking back-I was pretty naieve. Some of the people I thought were my friends then were total users. The mid to late 20s were an improvement-and the 30s were much better.I had even greater adventures in my 30s than I could have dreamt of in my teens or 20s!

 | souljunkie (20) 05/18/2005 | Like most young adults I was spending money stupidly on niteclubs and booze. At twenty five I started my first band and then I was completely focused on that. I was very happy at the time, had local fame, lots of women and not too much money, but those were years I spent chasing a dream that would cost me some very important years of a traditional carreer. I don't regret it but I do recognize this painful truth now.

 | texasyankee (21) 04/02/2005 | where did they go? I had 2 kids back to back and another about 4 years later. I don't remember much of them at all. Too damn busy to remember anything and don't remember having much fun.

 | CanadaSucks (45) 10/28/2004 | 20's rock. . .it's the prime of your physical existance and your intellect is on the upswing (college, plus graduate school plus real world experiences) I wish I could stay in that age range forever.

 | EschewObfuscation (61) 10/05/2004 | This is the decade of abrupt change. From youth to adult, from single to married, from lazy to motivated/focused and from (for many) childless to parent. And if you think the other changes are substantial, when you become a parent, you learn who you really are.

 | jgls (12) 10/02/2004 | my twenties started out great because they were an extention of my late teens which were quite frankly heaven on earth. suddenly i was out of college and expected to become a member of the work force and a productive member of society. i had no idea what i wanted to do, and i still wanted and needed to party. i spent most of the rest of my twenties working at jobs i was overqualified for while i was trying to find myself. i got into debt, made some bad decisions, and partied way too much. i definitely thought my twenties would have been a lot more fun, but they really kinda sucked.

 | irishgit (138) 09/29/2004 | Generally good years, although not the most responsible time of my life. A lot of fun, travel, sex and explorations. Almost got killed twice, which certainly made life seem a lot more precious. Got married for the first time (big mistake)

 | Bird808 (52) 08/09/2004 | I'm not enjoying my twenties at all. It's too serious, too much responsiblity and it's a general recovery from some of the mistakes you made as a teen. Your still trying to find your feet in life and figure things out. It's also a big disappointment. I honestly can't wait until my thirties this has to be a far more interesting decade.

 | Aurielle (18) 05/20/2004 | I remember being a little girl and playing with my friends. We'd all pretend we were women in our twenties with the perfect man, the perfect job and the perfect house. Well, now that I'm actually here, I'm not seeing any of that perfect stuff. In fact, the twenties are pretty damn scary. It's a tumultuous time for me, and until I get it straightened out, I'll be looking to the thirties . . .

 | minkey (36) 05/05/2004 | I like change and new experiences and I think that's what the twenties are all about. I can move, date different people, and try new jobs until I find a lifestyle I can see myself being happy with.

 | kamylienne (77) 01/26/2004 | I'm only twenty-two, so in all fairness I suppose I shouldn't be able to state how great it is, but so far, it's been good to me. I mean, it's the beginning of your adult life, more or less; this is the time where a lot of people can still go out and be young and go on their adventures, road trips, you know? Typically, people settle down sometime around this time and figure out how things are out on their own, or with the person they want to spend the rest of their life with. It's hard, and I know it gets harder, but so far, it's been good. Update: Now that I'm 23, I've managed to get married (yay!) and I have the typical crappy rat-race 9 to 5 job that I hate (boo! Working to get out of that situation). Living in my own apartment is definately a plus. And, I'm not ready to have a kid yet, but my sister is, so in a few months, I can borrow the kid to play with. Works for me.

 | Enkidu (37) 01/23/2004 | Confused; moments of glory, moments of suffering, lots of fun, good sex, not much money though. I thought I knew more than I really did. Pretty good decade.

 | OrangeCharlie (5) 01/23/2004 | My 20's had it's ups and downs. I was trying to figure out what the heck I was doing with my life. Tough time. Late 20's got easier.

 | abichara (60) 07/23/2003 | I'm 21 so I can say this with a little authority, I think this is a great decade of life. You have more responsibility, but yet you can still have fun and go out. The keyword for this time is discovery. This is the time to go to school and generally figure out for yourself how the world works. I've found that above all experience is the best teacher. The responsibilities of life and having to earn a living in order to support a family haven't kicked in yet. The world is yours at this time.

 | BIGBABY (10) 07/16/2003 | Some of the fun from your teen years ends. Your still young
and active, but some people get married and have kids,
which occupies most of thier time. I agree with Kamylienne that
life does get harder, you have to get out and work now.
