Got divorced, got remarried (it didn't take either but that took almost two more decades to fail) had kids. Worked hard at a lot of different things, and learned a lot about myself. A good decade.

The thirties were good. My children were still at home and I had more energy than I do today. The bad thing about the thirties is your ability to change careers or move to another state becomes limited. With the thirties comes responsibility and planning for the future. If you haven't grown up by the thirties you better do so quickly.

Is it true that the thirties are now the new twenties? I keep hearing it, and fortunately, it does feel like it (for me).

Marriage and parenthood. . .very important. . .but the 20's are still the best because that decade was the foundation for the higher things (family).

finally I can relax, enjoy myself and my kids and even my grandchild (who is the highlight of my life) the only down-fall is my kids are all teens and giving me a run for my money. Otherwise, money's good and life is enjoyable.

I think that in your 30's you are no longer tied to your childhood and upbringing, you're no longer so-and-so's son/daughter, and you learn the true cost of arrogance and miscalculation. Fortunately, for most, there's time to recover from both. This is the beginning of no excuses.

my thirties were a lot like i thought my twenties would be. i became more established in my profession, i became a lot more independent, and life in general started to get easier and make more sense. i was old enough to have responsibility and take it seriously, but not too old to actually have fun.

My thirties was the best decade of my life! (in a way) I was still poor but it was because at the time I was still giving all myself to the dream of getting a record contract as a rock musician. I remember always feeling that I had everything a rich man could have. All the young beautiful women I wanted with no effort, total power over people when I performed, a lot of so called friends that really just wanted to share the limelight but it was ok, free drugs whenever I wanted them, and the blind adoration of most people I met. It was a completely different life than I lead now. It was one of youth and excess. I remember it fondly still but know that it can only be done while your young and only responsible for yourself. I'm 45 now, have two beautiful children, a great wife, Im man-made drug free (ha)and My life is good but different, the way it should be. I will always hold my thirties in awe..Im glad I made it through it!

Things are starting to malfunction. But the brain and heart are strongest in the thirties

I never, in my wildest dreams, thought I'd be identifying with that over 30, over stressed, and overweight commercial! With a little work and time, I'll be able to cancel that third over. As for the first two -- well, we know that there will always be a little stress, and I'm certainly not getting any younger! However, I'm only going on thirty-one, so this is just the beginning for me. Hey, I'll do just fine! I have my Savior on my side!

I worked hard; I learned things about myself which weren't pleasant, but were essential to understand; good times, bad times, all possible kinds of times, it wasn't too bad. I learned I knew more questions than answers and that probably wasn't going to change, and I learned about living in the present moment.

I am LOVING my 30's!! Much more stable but not boring and stale. Having a super time with my wife and 13 month old daughter!

I would say this is a good time. You are beginning to establish yourself careerwise more than likely. Marriage and a young family are part of the whole thing too. Stability is the keyword for this time in a persons life.
