 | GenghisTheHun (167) 11/02/2007 | Today is November 2 and on this date in history, in 1976, Jimmy Carter, the first successful presidential candidate from the Deep South since Reconstruction, defeated President Gerald Ford. Now I like the Deep South, so I have nothing against persons from there on a per se basis. However, Carter ranks as one of the poorer presidents that we have ever had. I am no fan of Gerry Ford, but Carter makes him look like a philosopher king.
This would have been a great election for "None of the above."
