I've been diapering DD Amy (4lb 7oz) with Huggies Preemie for two weeks now. They've worked great! They fit a little funny, but they hold everything in. They don't have any negative affect on her sensitive areas. I really love the Winnie-the-Pooh characters on the taping panel. Tigger is my favorite. I also was very pleased with something pointed out by lexiesmom1. I flushed Amy's poopy diaper - wipes and all - down the toilet just fine a couple nights ago. The poopy diaper went down the drain in one flush. It hasn't had any problems with the plumbing. I'll miss this the most when she's grown to a size that can't be flushed, but until then it's nice that I won't have any used diapers in my trash. I also love the tapes. They're very secure, and they can be repositioned if they sag. Overall, Huggies Preemie work great!

My friend had a son that weighed 4 lbs 13 oz and she said these were fine at first since he was so small. They are not too absorbent but if you change them enough they are fine for preemies.

Huggies Preemie are perfectly sized for little ones. They're specially designed to assist in urine collection should the doctor need some. This is why they're complained about as being unabsorbent - they don't have superabsorbents that other diapers have, but generally they hold enough. On the good side, the diapers being not superabsorbent can simply be flushed down the toilet when wet or dirty - they're hardly more than a simple pad.

Don't waste you money- there things can't even hold a thimble of fluid! When I brought my 6 lb. babies home they were dwarfed by all the newborn diapers, so I bought a package of these and didn't even finish half of them. I'd rather have diapers that are too big than deal with a wet baby, wet pyjamas and wet mattress at 3AM. I'd have had the same results if I wrapped a Kleenex around their little bottoms. Avoid!
