Cloth diapers 5

No, actually you don't have to dunk cloth diapers in the toilet anymore. I do most of the time, but you can buy flushable paper liners to put in the diaper so they poop on that and you just kind of shake it off the diaper. There are also diaper spayer that you can attatch to your toilet to rinse diapers, or if you have a massaging shower head with a hose that will reach the toilet that can be used as well. And the poo of exclusively breastfed babies is water soluble and needs no preliminary rinsing. And I spend a max average of 5 extra minutes a day on cleaning my cloth diapers. Extra laundry comes with the territory when you have kids, so an extra load or two a week is no big deal at all. And I have discovered that no disposable can contain breastfed or otherwise runny poo as well as cloth. If I used disposables when my kids were tiny I would have to change their clothes every time they pooped because it would come out the top or legs of the diaper. Every.Sngle. Time. (i bought one pack of disposables for each child for the first few days after birth and use them occasionally) So, if one had to wash as many baby clothes as one would diapers, what's the difference?
I have used cloth mostly from birth with both of my children and I love them. It's not as hard as people try to make it sound! And there are many diapering options available that are just as easy to put on and take off as a disposable. The daycare I use even uses cloth and just puts the wet and soiled diapers in a bag for me to take home and clean.

Cloth Diapering is one of the best things you can do for you baby. Yes there is an investment, but that's what having a baby is all about. They doon't get that chronic diaper rash like with disposables, and with the modern cloth diaper it is so much easier than in our mom's days. I found the most beautiful and reliable All in ones. They are called Happy Endings Diapers,www.happyendingsdiapers.com and they have the cutest prints. They also have solids. the neat thing about them is they fasten in the back. I love them. I wil never use dispoables again!

i run my own business.. www.bugnboos.com and i started it cause of the high prices of cloth diapers. i have 2 babies still in diapers, and disposables were getting very costly. plus my youngest has eczema and they were very irritating on his skin. so i started making my own cloth diapers, and a business took off. where normal companies charge anywhere from 15-20 dollars for a plain AIO, i charge only 8-10 dollars. and mine are also custom made for your child. i will NEVER go back to disposables again!

What is with the cloth diaper companies they act like it is some kind of special luxury to cloth diaper your child, charging $20 dollars for an all in one cloth diaper (just some fleece and waterproof fabric)that your baby is just going to pee and poop on. Anyway I use cloth diapers, the ones I use I made them myself they work great and are completely travel friendly. I would never go back to disposables again. I never have to run out and by anything they are always there. I never dunk my diapers I just flush any excess poop an toss them in the pail and let mother nature sort it all out. No problems with rashes or allergic reactions etc etc like disposables.

Eco-friendly and cheap, cloth diapers have a lot going for them if you don't mind dunking poopy diapers in the toilet to pre-clean them. I have unfond memories of changing my little brother and then taking the diaper over to the tiolet for the unpleasant task of washing the excesss poop off when I was growing up. Cloth diapers are a big hassle and not at all travel-friendly but at least you don't have to feel like you are throwing your money away as it is with disposables. Some things to consider is the extra cost running the laundry all the time, the extra work needed to clean them and how dedicated you are to doing it. The start-up cost of cloth diapers can be high too, but if you don't mind used stuff, you can buy them on e-bay to keep it reasonable. Mothering magazine regularly does articles featuring cloth diapers and which ones rate high with readers. Sadly, I must admit to using my supply of cloth diapers as burp rags which attests to my love of convenience items. Maybe if I have one baby some day I'll try this.
