A wonderfully offbeat,dark comedy. Terrific acting.Very funny and very sad.WAY ahead of its time.

Gotta love this picture.  Bud Cort was great - he was so serious I totally believed he was in love with Ruth Gordon.  This movie was way ahead of its time, and yet it has something most people can relate to on some level.

Interesting, and I certainly have to be in the right frame of mind to watch it, but I always enjoy a repeat.

Grotesque, mordant and very funny in a truly nasty way.

This is a wonderful movie. Funny and dark but achingly sad as well. They don't make movies like this anymore.

A definite black comedy. about the friendship that developes between a 20 yr old. man and an almost 80 year old woman. Harold is obsessed with suicide and going to strangers funerals. He meets Maude at one of these funerals she also attends.Maude is very eccentric. she steals other peoples cars and rescues trees from the city to replant them in the country.their friendship changes to love. very odd movie but really likable. Ruth Gordon is great as Maude. bud cort is good too. A very weird movie not every one will like. I did.

I love Harold and Maude, what a great movie! But an odd, dark comedy, not for everyone, that's for sure!

This is a great comedy movie, but a very dark one. Some of Bud Cort's fake suicides are hilarious, but a lot of people don't find stuff like that funny at all, so it's really all in how you look at it. A rose by any other name, right?
