12/09/2005 | Easily the most personal song in the Pink Floyd Canon. While the songs on The Wall may be more naked and harrowing, they come off as too theatrical. This is the one time that Roger Waters seems honestly confessional to me and the simple understated delivery of David Gilmore's singing is way more effective than the anguished cry on songs like Empty Spaces or Mother.
