 | Focus (0) 10/06/2005 | Despite my name, I loathe the Focus. I had a brand new 2005 an it was a complete piece of crap! While driving home from work on the interstate a lug nut flew off the rear tire. That was the straw the broke the camel's back!

 | eraser1997 (1) 06/28/2004 | Good - almost great, IMO. There are two things lacking from this vehicle:
1) Legroom. Ok, let me qualify that - legroom for those of us 6'5 and over. If you're shorter, odds are you'll have plenty of room. And show me a compact car with legroom. 2) The reliability could still improve some, though it has improved dramatically in the past few years. I'd expect near class-leading reliability soon, at this rate of improvement....
But the best part of this car, IMO, is how friendly it is to the environment to those who can't afford to fork out the huge premium for a Toyota Prius. With a manual, you can get about 30/38 city/highway. That's not very far behind a Prius or Civic hybrid for highway mileage, and not too shabby for city, either. But the real shocker is that its tailpipe emissions are actually LOWER than the Civic Hybrid from what I've read, and near on-par with the Prius. Not bad for a car which costs many thousands less but doesn't sacrifice on room and has more power and better driving dynamics to boot.
