 | Glad-ImNotMackBrown (0) 08/01/2004 | uh, i do believe the title said early years GM started producing these back in 1970.
They were nice to look at, and had a quite stylish interior.
The SS models are getting hard to find(the badges are very small in front of both doors, and one should be on the right rear on the beauty trim on the trunk)these had 350's, and the 454 was
the choice option.
If you find one around in good condition at a price-do it...they go for quite alot during super chevy shows.

 | kahfess (0) 07/15/2003 | My pet for many years (from 1990 until 2003) was my 1983 Monte Carlo. The cars lines beautiful and the original engine was a real powerhouse. However, over the years I did change the engine of this car to a 350 with a 4-bolt main. If youre looking for a used car, the newer ones can be nice, however, listen closely for a slight skip if its one of the older ones that had the V-6. If it does have the skip, you might consider skipping it or inspecting it further for a cracked plug, plug wire, vacuum hose or even a cracked distributor. Or, better yet hunt for one of the 2003 models which are said to be wonderful cars all the way around. I love these cars!
