Air Condtitioning is already standard in almost all vehicles. If they do not, its only about a $150 option. (Add picture)

Though he wasn't aware of the fact, Bobby Kennedy bought me my first new car - a Volkswagen Beetle - in '68. It didn't have AC, but that was no big deal as I lived in Sausalito at the time.

I purchased my first air conditioned car on retiring to Florida. Don't use the AC much tho. I like it hot and I ride my Honda more than I drive anyway.

I bought my first NEW car in 1968, a Chevy. It did NOT have air conditioning. Looking back now, that is unbelievable. Of course, the majority of homes in those days didn't have it either. Times change.

AC is near the top of my list of must-haves, right up there with wheels. I drove an AC-less car for almost 10 years so, yes, it is possible to do without it. But once you join the club, you won't defect.

Air conditionng is still, believe it or not, an option is a few models. Mostly cheap foreign economy cars, like Kia's and Hyundai's. Well worth the extra money. Heat is always a problem in America during different parts of the year. Most vehicles offer climate control now instead of basic air conditioning.

Pretty much something everyone has to have unless you live in Alaska.

I would die without my A/C. Rolling down the windows is an option if you don't have it or it doesn't work, but sometimes it just blows in warm air and it's so loud! (freeway) It's so hard to travel without an A/C, it's a wonderful luxury

I guess if you live in the Yukon, you don't have to worry about it. But, here in the south, we have to have A/C. Cars can reach temperatures in excess of 150F without it.

Believe it or not, there are people down here in Tampa who drive cars without air conditioning. They have to be insane.
