Transmissions are in fact optional on still namy vehicles today, and most people do not realize it. Many come standard with a manual transmission. Automatics usually cost more. Also, in the new Ford 500, buyers have the choice of between a CVT automatic and a 6 speed Automatic.

Manual Transmission is the only type I like. I hate Automatics. I have seen too many fail on the off-road trails.
