This film is not for the faint of heart as it does not "sugarcoat" anything about the Holocaust. Well deserving of the Academy Awards it received.

This was a movie that needed to be made, and made well it was. It was rough, gritty, sad, powerful, depressing, and uplifting. I had expected it to be somewhat more of a propaganda piece, but I think that it really brought home what the Holocaust was all about in a way that wasn't a real bleeding heart sob story. It showed both how despicable some humans can be, as well as how noble others can be, all when faced with similar or the same circumstances. The shame of it is that some of the SOBs who ran the camps or who killed the inmates are still walking around free as birds.

First of all, this film is not for everyone. That being said, it wasn't supposed to be. It set out to be all the things it accomplished-moving, graphic, harrowing and real. Steven Spielberg created a masterpiece with this film. The content is haunting and the actors are superb especially Liam Neeson, Ben Kingsley and Ralph Fiennes. There is depth and symbolism to every aspect of this film-nothing is meant to be taken lightly. Fantastic and definitely one of the best films of all time.
