Packed with as many flaws as it is has alien species, it still gets five stars for the mere concept which would develop into an internation and multi-million dollar brand. The film is still highly enjoyable and probably a tie for my favourite of the six (with the Empire Strikes Back). This was what spawned some of the most ingenious fiction of all time (Expanded Universe)...

Still one of cinema's very best motion pictures. Awesomely-written dialogue, a fast pace, good acting, and imaginative from start to finish.

Probably a 5 for kids, but viewed from an adult's perspective, it isn't a masterpiece by any strech of the imagination. Luke Sywalker's acting was terrible. The dialogue is terrible.

Set the bar for successive sci-fi films. A true classic.
