sesame street is ok but elmo and cookie monster OMG they're so gay cookie monster does't know what a cookie is. he eats plates, glass, brick, metal and even the letters. prairie is trying to make him stop doing that but he doen'st stop it i wonder if cookie monster is on acid or acid or something that and elmo is really gay i hate him. he is a alien who teach kids and babys about pet, camera, plant and teeth. I hate mr noodle and dorthory the fish elmo teach gay stuff. that elmo he is a brain sucking alien on acid but people think he is a cute little red monster and count dracula is liitle bit weird too. the character I like is grouch, bert and ernie, telly grover and big bird i like the real people too like hooper and another people. Sesame Street is one of the best children's shows ever made. During the 80's it was great, but from what I've heard, it has declined a bit in recent years.

Sesame street never gets old no matter how old you are. I have also noticed some references adults would understand, but flies right over kid's heads. Plus everybody likes cookie monster and Oscar the Grouch. Best edutainment show out there. Thumbs Up.

it has always been the #1 show for children. it makes learning fun. it also stars some of the most memorable characters in childrens television. i grew up on sesame street, my kids grew up on sesame street and now my grandchildren are growing up watching it.

Great show with humor too. Mr. Hooper died, then David, who also worked at the store died just a few years later. Beware The Curse of Hooper's store.

I watched this religiously while growing up....especially the Mr. Hooper episodes. Now they modernized it ;(

Why this is not number one I will never no. But. . Hands Down the most educational, diverse, and age targeted kids show ever to be produced. What a historical sucess. I learned among other things to count in spanish in this show before I was 5. Best kids show of all time easily.

I think that the old episodes were some of the best children's programming that ever existed. Growing up in the eighties as I did, both me and my parents sat down every morning and watched Sesame Street. It taught me many lessons and entertained all of us. However I do think the value of the show began to decrease with the death of Jim Henson sadly. Today's version is not without it's benefits though-I just think it's struggling to compete with the animated, cheesy fluff that's popular right now.

This USED to be the best kids' show on television. Heck, I'd still watch the old episodes if I got Noggin. But now it's changed and gotten watered-down. The adult appeal that the show had is now gone, the content has been dumbed down, the show has become too formulaic, and there's way too much Elmo! The SS of today is just as bad as Barney, Teletubbies, and the like.

The 5 stars is for the '80s version that I grew up with, not today's sadly watered-down version!
