Not a bad song--it just doesn't recall the sound of the 80's.

I was never a fan of Bryan Adams and his raspy voice that sounds like he may drop dead on the stage anytime from chain smoking and lung cancer. This indeed is a good party song, but nothing more than just that.

Great song

This song might have marked the end of his rock and rolling. Great song and still popular. He sort of headed down the ballad trail after that, ala Michael Bolton. It worked out for him, but some of us miss the rockin' Bryan Adams.

I like the song but it got sooooooo much airplay kinda got real sick of it. Besides Bryan Adams was like 4 in the summer of 69

Sorry to be the sourpuss, disagreeing with the reviews of some of my eminent colleagues below, but I think this song is horrid.
Equally, I think Bryan Adams is horrid.
Maybe its because he comes from my town, and I've been hearing his alleged virtues extolled for far too many years, but any chance of my fandom evaporated long ago.

Well, one good thing about the summer of '69 is that you would not have heard this song.
Redoedo 10/27/2005
One of my all-time favorites. A timeless 80's classic.
zuchinibut 10/27/2005
I think this song is like Boys of Summer. It is a timeless song that is a lot of fun to hear.

Damn cool ... i love the guy !

I remember how shocked I was to find my dad playing this song when I came home from school one day. He had gone out and bought a Bryan Adams record because he said the song brought back memories. I wasn't sure at the time if this made my dad cool or hopeless, but the song really grew on me just the same. Sort of like a Canadian Jack & Diane?
ErictheFederal ist 07/22/2003
The song which made Bryan Adams to one of the greatest artists of all time. :)
kamylienne 07/21/2003
One of my favorite songs from the 80's--it was a lot of fun, it just kind of captured that kind of carefree youth at the time. It was a song about reminiscense, something I didn't understand when I was three or four (when it came out), but now that I do know what it's like to look back like that, I appreciate the song more.
