Not a MJ fan, but this song is OK

even though everyone dislikes mike now you can't lie and act like he wasn't the king of pop in the 80's. come on now

Belongs in the Hall of Fame for "not aging well". . .

"Thriller" is an amazing album and this track really stands out in it because it has a seriousness that is beyond something like "Beat It." People talk about the importance of the element of "paranoia" in Michael Jackson's music. I think that provides an interesting angle for looking at the music he has given us as artistic, rather than looking at his personal life as a series of scandalous events. "Billie Jean" is about a girl who claims to have his child, right? Yea, and the production reflects the feeling so well...that subtle but powerful bassline, the chiming of synthesizers, and his dead-on vocals. I play piano by ear, and thus songs like this are frequent requests. People laugh when they hear it, but I think there is an unspoken understanding about the dead-serious awesomeness of this song.

Good song which defined the pre-wacko Michael Jackson, along with the 80's. But it is not one of my favourites...

Personal opinions of the man himself aside, this is a good song, with a decent beat. Instantly recognizable.

Michael Jackson really did make great music back in the 80's. Its too bad that he got crazy in the 90's and jumped on the plastic surgery/pedophilia bandwagon.

This was Michael Jackson at his best in the 80's. The video was really, really good for that particular time.
