This was a memorable performance, and really stole the show from "Wolfie."

One of the most amazing and forgotten performances of the 80's.Who has not stood next to someone who does what you love better than you?You feel the range of emotions and try to use your reason to cope. Salieri spoke for so many people when he dealt with this. Abraham's performance was terrific.

One of the best performances of all time. Critics often cite that his character (and the movie in general) has virtually nothing to do with reality-- to which I reply "SO WHAT?". It's not meant to be a historical documentary. Abraham's performance is remarkable in every way and in every nuance. I can't think of another performance nearly this convincing emotionally.

F. Murray Abraham won his Oscar for his portrait of court composer Salieri in the biopic of famed composer Mozart, Amadeus. His misfortune of being nominated along with co-star Tom Hulce (in a wonderfully over-the-top performance) proved groundless, and it was the unknown who walked off with Oscar.
