When the 1980's began, disco was rapidly waning and ABBA was being torn by personal conflicts. As a result, the group's 1980 full-length "Super Trouper" was a return to more strictly Euro-pop (e.g. the title track) and a move towards adult contemporary (e.g. "The Winner Takes It All"); however, the single "Lay All Your Love On Me" evidenced that ABBA had not given up completely on upbeat dance music. While often overlooked by casual fans (in fact the single failed to break the top 40 in the U.S.), the song remains one of the group's better efforts as suggested by the artists who have covered the song (e.g. Nicer, Erasure, and Information Society.) The metal cover by Helloween is highly recommended.
