Ringu 3

The film on which the 2002 film "The Ring" was based. I didn't like The Ring much, and while I liked this film far more, it is no better than average. The acting is all over the map, with some pretty good work and some other stuff that would seem unusually stilted in Godzilla Meets Mothra.

I found it far more unsettling than The Ring, which may be damning with faint praise since I found The Ring boring.

Ringu 2

I liked the American version better, but this was still OK. Nothing more than OK though. A little creepy, but not very. 2 and a half stars

The american version seems oscar-worthy in comparison to the original.

The Ring was a terrible, horrible movie that was too long. It didnt explain anything, and just may have been the worst movie of all time. The worst of all time, that is, until the Japanese version Ringu came. Downright awful.

I expected a little more out of the movie which inspired "The Ring", but strangely, I didn't find this nearly as scary as the American version; it's practically the same movie (especially in the beginning), only with Japanese actors. There are some strange differences (the explanation of the child seemed much cooler in this version), and the scene with the child and the main male character was a lot freakier. But, other than that, it was just okay.
