A good place to see baseball. The stadium has been improved each year (unfortunately not so with the team) and most all the seats are good. If the game is bad and you are in the upper decks you can watch what is going on in the river. Some folks her call it Pretty Good American Ball Park and I'd agree. Also, as one reviewer said parking is a little lousy, but if you know where to go you can actually find free parking about 3 blocks away. Not one of the best, but so much better than Riverfront and a fun place to go.

I'd have given it a 2 star rating but 2 cokes ans two nasty cold pretzels with a lb. of salt on each one for $18.00, NA'.
Way overpriced, and just does not have that feel of what Cincinnati should have. Save some money and watch the crapy Reds on FOX Sports, and go to the Reds Hall of Fame Next Door, as that's a class act.

Only Cincinnati, the home of dreck, could replace one concrete toilet bowl stadium with another. The sightlines are better, and there are endless paeons to the Reds of the past, but it cannot cover up a bad ballpark.

The Birthplace of Professional Baseball now has one of the best ballparks in baseball.  The view of the river is great as well as the ties with Cincinnati's rich baseball history.  Too bad the Reds can't seem to field a winning team in this ballpark.  The only improvement would be to include more restaurants and bars around the stadium.

While the ballpark should have been built in Broadway Commons, it is still cool on the riverfront. Too much politics kept it out of BC (the city's getting a skyscraper next to the park in exchange for it being on the riverfront). Located on the winding banks of the Ohio River in downtown Cincinnati, Great American Ball Park serves as the home of the Cincinnati Reds, baseball's first professional franchise. Although praised for its innovative features, breathtaking views and affordable seating options upon its opening in 2003, Great American Ball Park also pays tribute to the Reds rich history. Crosley Terrace statues, Italian-marble mosaics, famous-dates banners and a nostalgic Sun/Moon Deck are just a handful of features that give this modern marvel a truly historic influence.

I confess that I was somewhat disappointed upon attending my first game in this park. There should have been more things paying homage to the Reds long and storied history. The smokestacks are cheesy and minor-leaguish. The views to the outside from inside the stadium are dull; it should've been angled towards downtown Cincy(which has one of the most beautiful skylines in the country). More landscaping is needed around the ballpark. Parking is crap. Aesthetically it IS a big improvement over Riverfront/Cinergy, so why do I find myself missing that old cookiecutter?

The short fences are for high school ballparks. No integrity in this one.

I liked Riverfront, but it seems like they needed a change to make a name for themselves.

A little disappointed with this stadium, it's still a good one, but from what I was hearing, I expected a great one. Still the Reds really needed it and it's a major improvement from Riverfront Stadium.

It just feels like they tried to do too much with it. Could have been much better, and it won't have the immediate history that Riverfront had. Still a good place to watch a game, though.

I was not impress at all. It was cheesy. The boat stacks were small and corny. The sightlines were not very good. Where I sat there was a concrete patio sticking out, if I had been two seats over I would not have been able to see home plate. Plus they have way to much little ctsie stuff to try to entertain. Worse of all the new parks I have seen.

GABP is a major upgrade from Riverfront. With some construction still in the process, such as the Rose Garden, and the Reds Hall of Fame... I think it is a very attractive stadium.

I'm afraid that this will go down as the one modern-era ballpark where the architects missed the mark. Like the new Comiskey park in Chicago, instead of building in charm and uniqueness, the architects designed a stadium thatlooks disturbingly like the cookie-cuter stadium it replaced (in this case Riverfront. The outfield, while unique, is somewhat contrived (fake riverboat smokestacks, for example). The city of Cincinnati did a nice job of making the stadium (which is really an island unto itself - separated from downtown by a major interstate) seem less detached than Riverfront was by increasing the width of pedestrian bridges and doing extensive landscaping. All in all, though, this is not a very remarkable stadium.

It's like they only tried to improve upon Riverfront, and not make a great ballpark. It's kind of sterile, and I don't like the idea of this place being a bandbox with HRs all game long.

Red seats, the scoreboard, and the smokestacks are the noly good thing about this park. The design is iffy, the location has been done before, and the team has some pretty bad management. If you're a reds fan, the OK stadium is the only thing going for you.

I would rate GABP as OK simply because it seems the architects could have taken better advantage of its location. Home runs should be able to fly into the river like the they do at PNC and Pac Bell. The extrerior should be more distinctive to the area. Saying this, the place is new and a huge upgrade to Riverfront.

This ballpark is great. The outfield seats are right on top of the wall and give the park a closed in, small feel from the lower level. The notch helps the third base seats by allowing them to be moved in toward the line. However, by having seats so close, the drawback is that many seats do not have a view of the entire field. The corners get cut off. The park still is not complete with first base side undergoing some construction. It is a great park with good views to boot.

The new stadium is great, compared to the old riverfront. It's more fun to go to, and a lot more fun to watch on TV.And I wish people would stop comparing it to camden yards because nothing can compare with that masterpiece. I say good work with the new park.
