Ugh. It's nothing but another "cat talk" show similar to "To The Contrary". The show will survive with cockroaches after a nuclear blast.

Original Comment (4/26/07): Yeah, The View got consistently high ratings with Rosie O'Donnell as one of its regular panelist. But disasters attract so much attention (especially in the media), and Rosie was the massive car wreck which was always sure to happen. Now that this personal disaster of a human being has decided to "quit" The View (which is more likely that Rosie was "let go" because of her vulgar behavior, which is not new for her, especially at a media event where young children were present), maybe Barbara Walters can pick someone with much more class and talent to be a panelist on the show (which, when compared to Rosie, means ANYONE else).
Update (12/04/08): Even with the aforementioned massive car wreck of a human being no longer part of this gab-fest, you are still left with a questionably-bright blonde- and a loud, obnoxious red-head who thinks the show now revolves around her. The show basically gets its ratings from the anticipation of another catfight. But clearly, The View (and the hosts) clearly lacks substance.

I've probably only ever seen snippets of it on YouTube when I go to watch the clips of some monumental cat fight that hits the "news". It looks like fairly typical daytime television fare, which is generally lowest common demoninator programming across the board. It's programming that is geared for viewing while you are doing other things like laundry or even better, vacuuming so that you don't have to listen to it. Soaps and Jerry Springer are far worse than this show. Does Maury Pauvich still have a show? What ever happened to Morton Downey Jr.? There was an asshole with teeth if ever there was one.

Horrible....Maybe one of the reasons I fear getting married is because I'm afraid my wife would end up like one of the women of 'The View.' Do you remember the guy version of 'The View,' which was hosted by Dick Clark and Bonaduce? It was called 'The Other Half.'
caphillsea77 03/13/2007
Good God, what a henfest, oh look out Rosie's been thrown under the victum bus again!!!
kolby1973 12/23/2006
I don't think "The View" is the absolute worst television show. I was really hoping the show would get better once they fired Star and hired Rosie to take over. It really hasn't improved, and it is obvious that Rosie is trying to get ratings high by starting fights with the likes of Donald Trump, and it is working.

A waste of air time. Isn't Barbara Walters ever going to retire and give relief to TV viewers?
JohnSpina 05/09/2006
It is not that women are gossiping that is the problem.Itis a couple of the hosts that are the problem. And now they are adding Rosie O'Donnell?Yecch!
numbah16tdhaha 05/09/2006
Women can sit around and talk about crap with each other, so why is this on TV?
Ih8rateitall 05/02/2006
Rosie O' Donnell is rumored to be the new co-host on The View. That is terrible, she doesn't fit in to their demographic at all. Those chicks are too catty anyways, and they don't even like each other.
kattwoman 08/21/2005
ive watched this only on occasion but it seems so uptight like they are all trying not to get on barbara walters bad side except for joy. shes the only one that seems to have a mind of her own. i think this show could have been alot better if they all could have been more them selves. star jones acted happy and giggly way too much for normal.
texasyankee 06/06/2005
Yawn. YAWN. YAWNNNN. Would prefer reading newsweek then watch this crap.
emj5687 06/05/2005
heykate do you actually watch the show? I'm not home during the day to catch it but even I know the one of the ladies Elizabeth is conservative and it's on ABC.
swangmaster8 05/17/2005
Women gossiping is not the show for me. It is worthless I feel dumber by watching it.
southparker9 04/19/2005
Women get together and dog men and discuss how they have it hard. Give me a break. This should be called the Bitches of Eastwick.
Mr Evangel 04/14/2005
Unbelieveable, I do not like these chicks, bunch of liberals. Everytime they open their mouth they prove their stupidity.
506buff 04/11/2005
there from hell...they think men are the worst thing...and they are hippies...i want to kill them
Mooselover 01/31/2005
I don't like this talk show but I've seen worse.
lord of the pings 11/29/2004
possibly the stupidest show in existance this is like watching some 14 year old girls talking about their boy band posters. this show is 0 steps forward and one giant leap back.
CastleBee 10/27/2004
Can you think of anything more boring than this? I've only seen a glimpse or two of this when I happened to be home but it was enough to convince me there's nothing here I want to see. Yada, yada, yada. What a collection of over-stuffed, over paid, know nothing bags. Opinions as valuable and unbiased as a made for TV man-hating Lifetime movie. Turnabout is NOT fairplay, it just proves you weren't serious about fairness in the first place.
alpepper 08/03/2004
No man should be caught dead watching this horror show. Men are simply stupid tools to this coven of witches. I remember Meredith Viera trying to bait Mike Piazza with sexually suggestive questions about the size of his Louisville Slugger. I was in a hospital waiting room and The View was on. I felt like I was stuck at a table at Starbuck's with 6 Vassar girls talking about botox, feminine hygiene, dieting, and Julia Roberts. The View is doucheriffic.
Blooeyz2001 08/03/2004
A bunch of yentas kibitzing, kvetching, & talking over one another. No redeeming qualities I can think of. Star Jones looks like she ate my couch & Elisabeth Hasselbeck is an annoying little twit.
louiethe20th 07/16/2004
Most of these women are beyond annoying! An absolutely horrible show.
BeatlesfanStev eo 07/10/2004
The most sexist show on t.v.

It's the Man-Hater Show!
Asura 04/17/2004
God bless the double standard. These dopey broads are just as bad as any ass-scratching man who says Women belong in the kitchen. Why the Hades is this ball of oily crap still on the air!?
BugahaNE 03/14/2004
A bunch of giggling women talking like their at a slumber party, and who is the annoying woman with the Brooklyn accent? Why Barbara Walters, who I consider intelligent , would get hooked up with a show like this is beyond me.
StanUzbeck 01/03/2004
Is this what television was missing? They had to create a show with no direction whatsoever, featuring a bunch of obnoxious women yelling about trivial stupid things that no one cares about. Seriously, it's like sitting in a coffee shop next to a table of women loudly discussing their boyfriends, their makeup, their plans for the weekend, and giggling and yelling You go girl! every ten seconds. This is probably the most pointless show in television history.
jgls 01/03/2004
i would rather have rats nibble at my eyes than to watch those hags.
LadyShark4534 09/03/2003
Are we supposed to take these six vain women seriously? I mean, Listen to them! Listen to what they say! They're trying to tell other women how to live their lives. Who are they to determine that?
lukskywlkr. 07/26/2003
I'm reminded of a joke I heard on the radio: What do you call a gathering of witches? Answer: The View
